Apex Legends – Request for South African Servers
As a dedicated Apex Legends player from South Africa, I’d like to raise an important issue that affects not only myself but a large portion of the African player base — the lack of local servers.
Currently, South African players are forced to connect to European or Middle Eastern servers, which results in consistently high ping (usually 150–200ms or higher). This creates a noticeable disadvantage in gameplay, including delayed hit registration, lag during fights, and an overall less competitive experience. In a fast-paced game like Apex Legends, where timing and precision are everything, this puts us at a significant disadvantage compared to players with lower latency.
The Apex Legends community in South Africa and across Africa has grown massively over the past few years. Many players are passionate, competitive, and committed to the game, but the server limitations make it difficult to fully enjoy or compete at a high level. Introducing South African servers would not only improve gameplay quality but also strengthen and grow the player base in this region.
Other major games have already implemented African servers, showing that the infrastructure and demand are there. Adding local servers would demonstrate that Apex Legends values its global community and is willing to invest in underserved regions.
I strongly urge the Apex Legends team to consider adding South African servers. It would make a huge difference to thousands of players and significantly improve the overall experience.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
