@Cabowse Why would I want the game to run completely different because I have somebody whos never played before on my team? Slow the heals, can't get a real shield?....

If you don't want to be subject to preditors and diamonds then don't play with preditors and diamonds. You can take pros and put them with noobs no matter how you nerf them. It's impossible to rebalance that and everyone will hate it.

I mean... really why don't you do the opposite. Just start everyone under level 50 with gold shields, a gold prowler, and a gold R301. I'll tell you why... because its a terrible idea.

@TrashPanda340 The assist mode is voluntary, so there is nobody forcing you to do it.

As an example, I have been playing the game with friends recently and they have only just started playing. I want to play with them and show them different aspects of the maps and help them along but at the moment if I do that with my account it makes the game unbelievably hard for them because i'm around level 350 and a diamond rank. I would happily take a hit to my combat effectiveness so that I could play with them in their lobbies.

@Cabowse Voluntary for who? You?... certainly not the lobby full of noobs that just had a bunch of preds and diamonds dropped with them.

  @TrashPanda340 Yep you and you only. It's not really a game-mode in itself and you have to be grouped up with a low level player to do it.
  
  You can't get badges from doing this and stats won't count to de-incentivise higher ranking players from abusing the system. This is purely for the benefit of new players that have friends that already play the game.

    I do see the merits to both arguments here. To assist lower level friends in beginners lobbies is a nice idea, but realistically you're going to need much stronger debuffs to even the playing field, otherwise you'll still just end up wiping a good portion of the lobby and it isn't fair on the rest of the newbies out there, they already have smurfs to contend with.
    Honestly i would go as far as a 50% damage output reduction, even then you'll probably beat the average newb...but at it least gives them a much better chance of defending themselves.
