Apex legends abandon penalty

simple answer. devs need to push timer on the YES button and disabled YES button in rank if the player tries to leave before 3 minutes. a player will not able to leave the match and he will never get an abandon penalty. ( Alt+F4 still in problem)

Compete with similarily skilled people is the definition of ranked in Apex Legends.

While playing with randoms is this the case? Sometimes I guess I don't have a strong data base to draw from. Just recently tried playing ranked with randoms in platinum and out of 10 games 1 squad was able to work together and hold their own otherwise it was a loot fest. I don't hold myself higher than what my skillset is. I will probably never achieve Apex Predator, but I hold my own and push fights when I feel I have a chance to with the squad I am playing with. To be quite honest regular mode squads seem to be better than random Platinum ranked ones. 

I had high hopes for better matchmaking, but alas it is as broken as season 2. Leave a game winning with 1500+ damage 6 kills and 3 revives and 2 rezzes to be paired with 2 people in the next game who can't land for crap.Can't/won't ping anything wander around the most open areas of the map in an aimless fashion and eventually die to sniper fire. Oh and as soon as they are down are pinging the hell out of enemy there with no real relation to where they got shot from because they don't have a clue. 

I get it, you want balance. Noobs and low level players have to be partnered with someone. I want balance too, I have friends they don't always play when I have time to. So here is a novel idea have an actual skill based matchmaking. It could be as simple as KDR. Or however you want it. But to say Platinum 4 is Platinum 4 is kind of silly. There will always be skill gaps, (why else do you think we have the charge rifle?)

In short after this novel, ranked is claimed to be similarily skilled players I call b**sh*t, there is nothing in any of the games in ranked that makes me believe this. So penalize me for leaving a crappy team? It makes the games better for those who whine about being short handed? How about those of us forced to be short handed with idiots from the get go? Hard to want to play through when the first fight you encounter with a squad both your teammates go down and you are forced to 1 v 3 a squad. Might as well be solo anyways. And quite honestly the penalty is/ was a knee * reaction to the community complaining about leavers it is about time respawn reacts/replies to the community that says enough is enough. 

Either fix your matchmaking system so similar people are paired into squads or remove your broken penalty. It really is that simple. I would like to have a full squad as most of you do too, but I don't want a full squad of people who can't hold their own. I play to have fun and get wins more than kills, but let's be honest if you aren't getting kills wins are further out of your grasp. Pretty hard to get kills and wins if your teammates are spending more time getting downed than fighting.

My long winded rant is over, just sick of reading posts about how great the ban is, fix the matchmaking already and the ban becomes less of an issue. Or add ranked solo/ duo. IDC just do something to make the ranked system and this game viable for those of us who enjoy playing not just surviving the game.

If my team sucks and make bad decisions I don't stick around and if I die and they leave my beacon I don't want to be forced to watch that match play out I wanna play not spectate

@GfjdkdjxjdkfiHowdy y’all!! Just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve got 360 mins (2 weeks) abandon penalty today! Woohoo! I’m not a chronic leaver or a habitual leaver since I like to watch some of the random pros play but I seldom jump out of a match watching people being dodo birds. This time, no exception, I forgot I was playing ranked and clicked thru and TADA!! 360mins!!! Bam!!!
I guess I’m done playing Apex LMAO, it was fun while it lasted. Bye!!!! Time to play other games out there!! Laters!!

Can someone explain why I get an abandon penalty after my whole team has died and it prompts me so? This is the 3rd or 4th time its happened.
