@MandatoryIDtag point is if players cant win a fight as caustic cuz they cant throw traps in enemys face then they simply cant play fps...if you can only win a fight when you * the enemy before then you actually need to practise some aiming ๐
@matzesingtThere is nothing about your argument that isn't stupid.
You can justify any decision with it, no matter how it affects balance.
"You just can't aim" is a fallacy and does not consider anything that affects the outcome of a fight that isn't aim itself, which is only one factor by itself among a dozen.
But if you wanna repeat your one and only easily dismissible point over and over again hoping it'd make it valid somehow then be my guest.
- @BigBlackCaustic Imagine most agents have tacticals that are not that strong in the mid of a fight..and caustic is clearly not one of the worst when it comes to that, so asking for reverting a necessary nerf is insane,Fighting against a good caustic in the last rings was more then cancer and it still can be. There was barely any counterplay to it when he threw the barrels basicly in your face.
I even started to main BH to * up caustics thats how depressing it is to play against caustic, and the moment i see a damn barrel somewhere i sure as hell hunt that guy down even if i have to chase him all over the map... and so far ive been lucky to not find a single caustic in plat(currently) that can actually aim without his gas giving him the big boy adv. We don't ask much, we only ask to KEEP the original way to disable the trap, shoot the bottom of the barrel, that's it.
Is that too much to ask ??

That's EXACTLY problem, you don't need to aim to win the battle with Caustic anymore.
Everything is SO HUGE, his trap is HUGE, Caustic is HUGE, you can close your eyes, you can kill him easily.

@matzesingt That equates to about 2 extra bullets depending on the weapon used. It's not an advantage lol.

Since you're so good in aiming, I don't see the reason you can't shoot the bottom of the barell, right ?

I don't have one but we can easily test in Firing Range with friends.
The exact terminology in the patch notes is as follows:
Caustic
- Enemies can cancel Causticโs barrel by shooting it before it is fully inflated.
That to me implies it CAN be shot anywhere whilst inflating to be disabled,so I don't think it's a bug at all.
However the inflation time is extremely slow, making the nerf a serious problem for caustic lol.
This in itself I could have lived with, it's inability to throw traps through windows that's bugging me lol.

Probably the Dev and QA didn't clarify so they made the mistake.
Unfortunately not, anywhere on the canister free game until it inflates, stupid.
Just being back season 4 caustic or make the time to inflate half what it is now. 3 seconds to throw and inflate at mid range is stupid.
@Sir_NamedI thought it was before it hits ground or starts getting inflated. That is why I assumed it now rotates. So the bottom of the barrel can be hit in air.
Still tho, anyone throwing a barrel at a person they can shoot is awful anyway. Last night I dropped with another caustic and had no gun. He chucked out multiple barrels while I punched him to death. ๐

Let's push a duo looting behind a van and get melted. Why throw a can and use it as cover? And the digi threat to laser through smoke while using your own personal wall that lasts 10 seconds?
