That's because the game has gotten to the point of having season loggers, who quit 1 or 2 weeks into the season with an incomplete battlepass. End of season they log back in again to see if the next season isn't gonna suck balls, then they're stuck not being able to complete the pass because respawn unlike other BR's doesn't even give faster leveling end of season or anything.
Then the next season people find out that yep.. game is still awful and quit again.
Fortnite and CoD get 250K viewers on twitch while Apex gets 20 to 25K if they're lucky. Even the tournament doesn't bump the numbers.
It's clear that Respawn needs to take a hard look at what FN and CoD do different from them, like giving players a playable mode when they do not have a full squad (very often for a non pro/streamer).

It is funny people think twitch numbers means that much. I don't even have a twitch account. Why would I? Watching others play is one of the lowest form of entertainment.

I agree that twitch numbers should not be used as quantitative data, neither should you conclude that players who watch streamers don't play the game.
Also saying

During what times? At prime hours they always go above 200K each, and viewership on twitch most definitely correlates positively with active players and interest in general.
Monster Hunter World doesn't have a secret playerbase that doesn't bump it's viewership on streaming platforms. If you don't like it, that's fine, but Fortnite and CoD are much bigger than Apex right now on all fronts. Apex just isn't spectacularly popular.
