Apex legends Performance Mode

I suggest that respawn entertainment please add a performance mode for apex legends similar to the performance mode in Fortnite battle royale. I currently get sub 30 FPS on the lowest settings in ape...

You cant compare the two, I can get several hundreds of fps in fortnite because its a very simple gfx game compared to apex, but a tip for you, edit the startup parameters to enable "performance mode" 😉 one of the things you can do is add -high to launch parameters which gives apex high priority in the system but can make it more unstable, so there is a myriad of toggles you can do to make it more performant that fit your system.

I wish this was in the base videoconfig but to switch it all off you have to edit the videoconfig file. This is much used combined with the launch parameter to remove 144 fps cap in the client to support 165fps+ systems that the pros use.

Edit: When tuning for advanced performance you need to check one and one thing because some things might not be good for your particular system, but in general you should be able to get more performance then default settings by working with this. There is a lot of articles on the net on how to gain those last few fps for highest possible performance. But yes it would be cool to be able to toggle a competition mode or something to be able to go into stupid config for lowest possible latency and highest fps. Still this would be different options between systems and setups so its not that easy to do in the simplest form to gain the most from such a toggle.

Just a few weeks into the current season of Fortnite the game had started suffering terrible frame rate issues across various formats (despite Epic acknowledging this) it still hasn't been fixed to this date (making Epic nearly as bad as Respawn at fixing performance issues) particularly in BR mode where both me & my nephews (who I play trios & squads modes with) have often experienced frame rate drops to as low as 10FPS making the game play like junk atm.

any settings lower than the ones you can setup in the games config can be seen as cheating (eg. removing the grass and rendering it as a plain, which would result in quite large performance boost).
Comparing it to other games is not really helpful , Apex has a different Engine than Fortnite.
Issue with frame drops can have various sources, like faulty drivers and config/game files, 3rd party software that also wants to use the GFX accel (Overlays like Overwolf, Discord, Browsers ect.), in that case a dedicated performance mode would likely not give you the result you want.

  Removing shadows is pure fps performance, for your visuals its not a benefit as you cant see people hiding behind a corner and so on. Shadows is one of the more costly things in a game to render and hence a very nice thing to remove if you struggle with performance. This is not unfair advantage, removing grass however is. Same with the startup parameters for the game, you can choose your directx, and its actually the only way to get the game render more then 143 fps, yes ofcourse it will help. On my 1080ti games in general play better on dx11 then on dx12, while on my 3080ti that is not the case.
  Yes its true that overlays can steal performance (its actually suprising how many things have overlays), same with game capture software like nvidias software or steelseries moments, those are also smart to consider switch off (you know the software where you can hit a key to save the last few minutes of gameplay)
