The new rework is insanely bad. I was gold last season and climbing, now I cant even gain 1 RP in bronze 4.The game now expects an unreasonable amount of teamwork from rando players, punishes going for kills, and playing the game in general. Nothing feels fun!Respawn have clearly catered the entire game to the top 10% of players while neglecting the other 90% who ACTUALLY make up the player base.Even in games where you work together (as much as possible) it's negative RP. Me and my team got 6 kills at the start of the game - NOT from hot-dropping - and happened to die on rotation. We got negative RP. In bronze VI. I repeat, in bronze FOUR you get negative RP for killing two whole teams. Its not fair to punish players so much in such a low rank.These changes MIGHT improve plat and above gameplay but I am totally lost as to how this would make the game funner for the vast majority of players. Once the lobbies get leveled out again the games will be extremely long and unpredictable. You can pop off and still end up in negative RP. Games are totally unrewarding, boring, and frustrating now. Big L. Surely I'm not the only one who is thinking this?

The stream had 0 viewers until I joined. Obviously the guy was a smurf, he had only starting legends unlocked. He was in silver 1 when I joined. And he was destroying everyone. Now guess who his teammates were? He got 2 ppl with diamond trails in silver 1. What chance do real silver players have against this ream? NONE.

@nwevolution Your post is solid and I like it. However you are both right and wrong here.Yes players will have to use more skills to rank up, Gun skills and game sense skills, as it should be. However due to the rework on the RP thresholds and costs the time needed to reach those higher ranks has increased significantly and not everyone has the time to make that grind and Time does not equal skill. This will basically mean that those players that have the skill to make plat or diamond may just be stuck in gold because they do not have 4 hrs a day that they can spend playing games to make the grind. So what you are left with are hard core addicts, streamers/content contributors (they make money doing this) and Pro's that will make the upper ranks. I myself can make plat but now do to the increased costs (increased time needed) I do not think I will make it past gold, how fair is that? Got the skills but just do not have the time. You know I have a life outside of Apex and gaming, wife, kids, Job etc.

I don't think you should have to know rotations, have solid aim, and be able to coordinate a team in bronze to be able to gain even 1 RP. Not every rank should force out masters gameplay because its unrealistic, and like @Asmodeus566 said, time consuming.I worry this new ranked will scare away new players because its extremely punishing at low ranks. Like its scaring away me... 😂 We will see once the lobbies are fairer in a week or so, but I have doubts.

@Asmodeus566 I get what you mean, however getting RP now requires a playstyle that doens't fit my definition of skilled. I understand its the devs who decide what skilled means and theres nothing we can do about that.Btw don't you thing the placement / kill RP was more balanced last season? Like, in order to gain big points you needed kills and placement, but you did not lose much RP if u died early with lots of kills. Many early kills where like a safety net.

@Asmodeus566 Alright fair enough, Respawn can't make everyone happy at the same time anyway. A Permanent ranked control mode would be dope to for us gunplay focused Hot Drop Rambos.Please Respawn ? 🙏

The objective of this game is die later then the others... not only kill the others... if you and your team managed to go negative in Bronze IV with 6 kills.. you probably died in a 14+ position... it's natural you get negative.
I reached Master last season, and also with the old system the only way to get points at high levels were to get a good placement... kills weren't enough.
I think the new system is better because it show the real skill of a player... if you want to go back to Gold, you should learn how to rotate effectively. In the old system, anyone who played enough could reach Platinum IV... and with a little skill also Diamond was possible. Now those ranks are more worthy to reach.

@Asmodeus566 Yes entry cost is higher, but you get a ridiculous amount of 'participation' points if your team somewhat knows what they're doing.

@Asmodeus566I agree, time might be an issue this rank season, but hopefully that's substituted by better players and a faster progression within ranks once everything is settled. To be fair, I went from bottom Silver 3, to midway Gold 4 in only a few days. It's definitely giving me a different perspective on Master players, had a few as teammates, and tbh, they were pretty damn bad! lol

@Angelddddfffvcdf I like the new changes and i think they're going in the right direction BUT, i do agree that it's not the ideal system for lower ranks simply because people do not play as a team and never will. From Plat and above i think it's a good change, as people tend to realize what's on the line.

Yes the new ranked system might be a turn off for new players but that is what the rookie rank is there for, to learn.
I do agree that the costs at Bronze should not be as punishing as they are right now for that matter silver also but by gold and above it should be harder just not as hard as EA has made it.
If I had the time it would not bother me because the skills are there but EA has made so that Time = Rank and well while some do not have the time.
All in all I feel that as it is right now EA is rewarding Apex players that have the time more than those that have skills in Ranked play.
