Apex used to be great

We could discuss the merits of your list, it has many. It also has a few misses, and it has some conspicuous absences. All of which is... beside the point?

From my perspective the point is that this game has run its course, as all games do. Most are lucky to survive a three year life cycle and this one has exceeded that span by quite a few years. And may still have some life in her yet. Probably not much, but a little. And that's something to celebrate. Especially in light of the fact that there are not a few games out there now that have launched fairly recently and which are plagued by many if not all of the problems that plague this one.

It's taken me well over twenty years to realize it, but the idea of a high-functioning cheater-less shooter is a fantasy. We want it to exist so badly that we endow truly crippled games, like this one, with all sorts of characteristics which, just by playing a match or two, can be understood to simply not exist. What developers don't manage to ruin, the players will. The words "fun" and "multiplayer" are mutually exclusive. If that sentence made you roll your eyes then maybe you're not there yet, but you will be. Sooner or later. I hope for your sake it doesn't take you 25 years like it did me.

But in the mean time, let's not beat this dying horse. If any of the things on your list were achievable then they would have been done by now. Oh, and I'm not going to say that I was offended by the use of the expression "real fans" because that would make me sound a little snowflakey... but let's just say it's an expression I wish you hadn't used.

What would you have preferred i say instead of real fans? My reference is to anybody who kept playing apex habitually through all the bs while also not cheating ever.
