Arbitrary Ban/Suspension policy [APEX]

Well, it happened. I got banned for calling someone a ret*d. I guess that's not nice, but that's what you get, when you talk nonsense on chat and accuse everyone of doing everything wrong and being delusional. I was actually quite factual even though the language might not be kindergarten appropriate. Now my 100+$ account is suspended for 7 days and I am threatened that it will be banned if anything ever happens again. Or in the next time? Or for eternity? What scope am I looking at for having to put my teammates in bubble wrap?

This is totally arbitrary! Am I not allowed to have conflicts with my teammates? Since when does EA care for community toxicity? I have been playing this game since season 1 and it has always been a toxic mess. Chat harassment, voice chat harassment. All usual. Some time you just give up and shoot back, and all of a sudden, EA seems to care about some wording. What wording? Is "ret*d" not okay, but insane is? Or calling someone drunk? This is some serious nonsense. Are we basing this on the offense potential? Then you can not say anything to anyone. I get that you don't use racist and homophobic or sexist language, but this is going too far.

The Chat is useless 99% of the time anyway, and you have to mute it every game manually, and that is a unnecessary hassle that you sometimes forget. And if you got flamed for 2 hours you just shoot back.

Either you give me an option to block all language communication by default, or you let the internet be the internet. I don't want to talk to people in MP games anyway, it has always been a flame fest and will always be. So just put an option in that I can only ping and get pings. You seriously don't need any more in the game.

Any way, my point is. EA will not see another cent from me, period. And if there was a way to get my money back, I would do it. But EA being EA, cash grabbing is okay, but actual community interaction is impossible.

Have a nice day,

not a customer any more ever

  • @DERxhoobitI have over 20500 matches played. I can count on two hands how many actual toxic players I have had in that time. When I do hear them I simply ignore them or laugh. Words will not dictate my fate in a game. I do not allow it to by not responding or speaking to them when I have had a bad game and they engage with insults. Are we adults here or children who stoop to low levels of insults? =P

  • @E9ine_AC I imagine that you are quite high elo. I have heard that from other games too that high elo is way less toxic than low elo. That peaple act less entitled and toxic.
    Sad thing is, I'm having good fun in shooters, I don't have skillz in shooters. So I am damned to be in the jungle of toxicity.
    And adult or not, if you play for 2-3 hours and literally get flamed in chat almost every game, it gets on your nerves. You are there for the fun and maybe even to get better, and then you have to read this BS all the time. It takes away some fund and en mass it takes away a lot of fun. So on a bad day you will respond in kind. And boom, banhammer... It is just silly...

    @DERxhoobit It is best to just ignore them. While I can understand it is quite hard to bite your tongue with certain comments to protect yourself and your account it would be best to only report them for it so they meet the fate that you did. Those reports are taken very serious. Action on those reports are taken quite fast. So ignoring them would of helped the community if you had reported them. Even if you did report them for it they also would have had actions taken against them. So just know your better than that and in the future you will win with a simple report and they will lose.
  • @E9ine_AC Even though I am still very unsatisfied with my account suspension, and think that EA is a lost cause in community matters, I still want to thank you for your positive words.
    They really mean something to me and I will try to take your advice to heart when I am in that situation again. Thank you!

    @DERxhoobit

    I would honestly create a BBB report for these warnings and/ or strikes against your account. I've always been contacted by a BBB report directly from EA, not outsourced support companies.

    It's really a gamble if the (outsourced) support agent gives a strike or not, like honestly.

    The next ban after the 7 days one is perma one 😉
    I've got it for writing bots in chat 3 times 😉
