Ash Origin Story
Ash is a simulacrum, a Pilot, and a mercenary who worked under Kuben Blisk as one of the Apex Predators. She piloted a custom Ronin-class Titan. They were destroyed by the Militia Pilot Jack Cooper and his Titan BT-7274 during the Frontier War; however, Ash was later rebuilt by Vinson Dynamics.
Eventually, she reunited with Blisk. At some point, they made a deal which involved Blisk throwing her head into a portal and her headless body was stashed inside one of the IMC's terminal stations under Kings Canyon, on top of a charge tower. The head landed in the dimension where Revenant rules over Solace, which the Legends dub the "beta plane," and was split into 9 pieces, scattered all over Kings Canyon.
The Legends re-assemble Ash's head for Hammond Robotics in exchange for the coordinates of Revenant's source code. Ash is revived when the head gets reattached to the body, and is delivered to Hammond Robotics, who then extract codes from her memory banks. Pathfinder later finds her into a dumpster, without any knowledge except for her name,and takes her to the warehouse he woke up in and they live together in Solace City.
Because Ash is a girl and she is his "friend", Pathfinder boasts to other Legends that he has a "girlfriend" which pique the interest of Mirage and Rampart. They visit Pathfinder and Ash, but Rampart accidentally triggers Ash's memories, alerting the attention of Blisk. After all the Legends leave and Ash is alone, Blisk comes to the warehouse. Ash prepares to fight but Blisk explains he was not trying to kill her, he had no choice, and they had left on good terms. He then tells her an old friend of hers is back.
Ash is somehow connected to the floating city of Psamathe, Olympus, and knows the names "Darion" and "Duardo."
Speculation
It is widely speculated that Ash was Dr. Reid, the former apprentice of Horizon. It would explain who the "old friend" Blisk refers to and how Ash is connected to Olympus.
