Avoid rage typing...

I have never understood why anyone would use text chat in a game. For a whole lot of reasons. But these days even voice is risky if the guy you're cussing out has voice-to-text turned on.

Sad to hear about your friend. However breaking the rules has consequences.

As far as what you mentioned above "you can cuss all you want using voice chat" that is false. Recorded games can be sent in as reports. Also if a player has voice to text activated then that will be recoded in game and can be reported in game. 

Best thing to do is try to be polite and decent towards others and if that is not possible then just avoid text and voice chat altogether.

yes rules breaking had consequences.
perma ban? really? if it was hacking or cheating i think thats good.
IMO i would prefer a mute instead. banning from using the chat features.
game is already losing concurrent players and this is what EA keep doing.
even the most toxic game on earth Dota 2 doesn't ban instead muting players on few violations.
