The cheating is way out of control right now. I left the game 6 months ago over this issue and the hit reg issue that is so prevalent in this game, but I came back just because of the community and I still get a fun match now and then. I play on Switch and PC and in my opinion switch is the easier platform to play on right now since PC has at least 5 times as many cheaters, and is near unplayable as Retired Caustic was just saying. Also, using the motion controller on switch is probably the closest you can come within the rules to using MnK on console, so in that respect it is better than PC.
I disagree though that banning these devices and other hacks will cause all of the playerbase to leave. I think these people enjoy the game, but as Esh just said they are lazy and don't want to learn how to play. I am willing to bet most of these people would stay, but would slow down and actually learn how to play once there was no more ways to cheat. It shouldn't be that hard to ban this stuff, if a gun fires all of its rounds in a split second instead of the usual time it takes a gun to empty its rounds it should be a ban. If a gun locks onto a target without the person bothering to aim then it should be a ban. If a person uses movement scripts and their feet don't touch the ground after a certain amount of time and they didn't use movement mechanics that come with a skill, then it should be a ban. If people are draining the servers to deliberately cause lag and the system senses one player is draining the memory allotted to the game, then it should be a ban. These things should all be able to be set up automatically in the game's servers where it won't be necessary to detect a device or hack, just detect this type of abnormal behavior in the game regardless of how it is happening. This wouldn't be a perfect solution, but it would probably crack down on 90% of the cheating.
What I hate right now is they aren't removing people currently from mixtape matches like they were doing 6 months ago when I left. Back then it would give the player's name and say they have been removed from the match, then it would say "abandon penalty no longer active" so people could decide whether or not they want to keep playing even though its not a fair lobby. They desperately need to start doing this in mixtape again since the lobbies are getting pretty bad.
Yeah I cam back just to really have fun, not press too hard and see if they dealt with stupid Pred feeding matchmaking -> realized that not + hacking is worse :D
