This is correct. You get them incrementally as you progress through the levels, not all at once at the end. 

I am also amazed at the confusion.

I thought the same alot of people did because the way apex worded it. Also in loading screen tips it said you would receive the gold and crafting after finishing premium battle pass. I feel so cheated by apex. I have contacted them many times this week they just keep saying our specialist team is working on it give them time blah blah blah. If i would have known you received them while completing battle pass not when finished i wouldnt have wasted my gold now i have to pay 10 more dollars to get this season battle pass which i am not doing ever again. Its really not worth it this season anyway its all trash skins nothing worth the money in my opinion. Apex needs to make this right with the people. Also your live chat customer service is god awful talked to 3 different people everyone of them just said our team is working on it give them time. I am done with apex i have played since the 1st week but now im never touching this game again apex has just let me down to often lately.
