Although Meltdown map looks awesome, Kings Canyon holds it's own charm. It made this game feel closer to a realistic military simulation, with only a small sci-fi footprint. I think it is exceptionally well balanced, covering a lot of battle scenarios. We spent hundreds of hours, fighting memorable battles and getting hard fought wins among thousands of deaths. It's a bit sad to see it go, I hope we'll revisit it at some point (Unless I'm dumb and the map actually remains available as an option in Season 3, hehe).What's your favorite area of Kings Canyon? The most dreaded one? Will you miss the sand, the swamps, the flyers, the leviathans, the shacks, the School (Skull) town? 🙂

@DoYaSeeMe I'm guessing both maps will be part of a random rotation or something, doubt they'll just scrap the game's OG map so soon.As for favourite spot after much thought and consideration I had to pick bunker 😀

@DoYaSeeMe I have a feeling we won't be able to play kings canyon this season. Maybe they will bring it back in a later season with a bunch of changes or something. I don't think they'll split the playerbase between maps though.I had a love hate relationship with skull town. Some of my best game have started there, but also the worst have ended there.

I really hope they keep both maps playable and not do a fortnite and get rid of favorite locations. Would rather just have both maps.

I doubt we'll have both available, because of playerbase splitting, Crypto not well suited for Kings Canyon ( his drone may be too easy to hide in trees, no hackable doors to unlock, etc.), issues with ranked mode (old players would certainly have the advantage of knowing the map way better than the new wave of players coming in with Season 3). I guess we'll see tonight.

i heard that kings canyon will not be in the rotation at the start of season 3.But i'm going to miss the market, it's amazing to fight over there, close and longrange battles were always fun

I’m really looking forward to this new planet to be honest, quite the welcoming change imo, brings new dynamics, new ambush spots, and somewhat of a new experience to an already great game.
Not to mention new line of sights, what seems like more of an interactive map with the train and what not.
Dropping in the same spots over and over, same map rotation, relatively same final circles, was getting kinda old.
Will I miss it, probably not, as it will be quickly forgotten once I start playing season 3 lol.

@Gabrielmojo26Well, train is refreshing, but not more interactive than supply ships. I wonder if the loot crates on the train get a refill every round or loop.
Edit 1: I was wrong, the train can be stopped, nice.
Edit 2: JackFrags confirms in a video that Kings Canyon is buh-bye for now.

Four months later, it's buh-bye again 🙂. Oddly, I only landed like 2-3 times in Skull Town, and once it was deserted. Also, now I'm sure I like World's Edge more, but wouldn't mind to visit KC in its pristine form every now and then (like 2 long weekends per month).

I have enjoyed being able to get into fights in a minute or two of each other and the constant action with 3rd/4th and 5th partying to keep you on alert from drop. Instead of going for a long stroll through the country side for 10mins taking you out the flow till 5 teams all turn up at once.
