hot drop or not it depends on the skill, but overall, you need to find balance between looting too much and looting too little, the key is loot enough to handle the (urgent / non urgent) situation, if not urgent loot more, if urgent loot less. The thing is if you loot too much and waste time too much, you might get killed and waste time (looting) without shooting even a single bullet. I usually drop bunker, it's a semi hot drop, it can be a really hot drop but not that often compared to skull town, the reason is it's a nub filter (to gauge nub performance). If the nub die, then I don't have to waste time looting looting and then find out later that teammates suck. Bunker is perfect to do this for me because I'm a Caustic.
What I need to be explained is the logic of why nub and FNG keep pinging and drop skull town (or jump straight down after the timer) when they don't even have the skill?
Are they, on a suicide mission? Trying to get easy / fast kill? (lol u wish) Trolling? Brainwashed sheep? Or 9 yrs old?
See i personally think Containment is the best landing spot, fairly consistent for good loot, not overly busy and in easy access of a number of highly populated drop points, plus you'll rarely have to sprint for miles to the next circle.
It all boils down to personal preference frankly, but yeah.Containment!
