Can you get banned for changing audio to Japanese with English UI?

Title. I’ve seen this asked a time or two but never see any real authority answer the topic, at least not from what I could find.

I’m a big fan of the Japanese language and currently learning it. Think it would be super cool to hear Apex in Japanese voices to help with the learning but retaining English text so I can still navigate the menus until I’m comfortable swapping those to Japanese as well.

I’m well aware there are methods to do this, but it’s certainly not worth getting banned over. I’ve seen most people have success, however a few people claim they have gotten banned for it. Just want to know if there is any legitimacy to these claims or if it’s bannable.

Thanks!

  • @sayamaruFPS It is perfectly fine to run any language you wish to run that apex supports. There is nothing against the rules at all with doing that. In fact its how one big streamer learned how to speak Japanese.

    I know it’s not against the rules to run Apex in a different language, but the method to retain English UI/Text and have Japanese voice lines requires you to play around with the audio files in that you trick the system into thinking the voices are still Japanese while retaining English UI. That is the part I’m concerned about. I don’t want it to be auto flagged as tampering with the game files by an anti cheat somewhere

  • @sayamaruFPSWell, it seems EA still doesn’t recognize language in the game chat. So I would be hesitant on making that switch. I was banned in December for writing the Japanese word, “nikka” (knee-ka) - n. To mean day or routine. In my sentence, I explained to teammate that it’s their daily routine to rat in this game. I explained all this in my appeal but received the automated response and permanent ban. So be aware that EA is in fact culturally disconnected and will use whatever that wish against you to force you to create a new account and repurchase the game.

    @sayamaruFPS I don't actually think that's forbidden playing with a language that you're familiar with and which game supports. never heard of any bans about it.

    Again, it's not simply changing the language that I'm concerned about. It's the tampering with game files in order to have both Japanese voice lines and English UI at the same time. This requires that you get a little tricky with the audio files to pull off.

    I'm also not sure why the first guys reply was marked as the "accepted solution" considering it didn't actually address my real question. Perhaps I worded it in a confusing way seeing as so many people are misunderstanding my concern. I've tried to clarify those in the replies

    @GeezyTHEgiver

    "it’s probably the EA answer HQ clan giving each other xp to keep their rank high"

    Please do not spread false info.

    We do not need XP for maintaining our ranks. For more info about Champ's, Hero's and Guardian's see the link https://answers.ea.com/t5/Public-Information/bd-p/su-public-general-en be informed about what you say before you say it.

    Also this "So be aware that EA is in fact culturally disconnected and will use whatever that wish against you to force you to create a new account and repurchase the game."

    EA does not discriminate nor condones discrimination or bans account just to force people to create new accounts. The game (Apex) is free.
