Can you guys actually say something positive about this game?

Its the hope the game returns to the state when it was actually good

Its the best MP FPS BR game out right now. 

Does more need to be said than that? 

I could go on for days about things that are broken, wrong, bad, or otherwise in need of attentions, BUT...

This season's matchmaking update has, for the first time ever in any fps I have ever played, actually fixed ALMOST all of the problems with sbmm. Matches, at least on the left end of the skill spectrum, are almost always both tight and fast, something previously unheard of since... forever. In any game. Smurfing is still a huge problem, but I will give credit where credit is due. What Respawn has done for new players, and for old players who just don't want to work that hard, is nothing short of miraculous. Kudos. Now let's just turn that laser-like problem solving ability to.....

I feel like we were playing different games, because my matchmaking was divinely terrible. So bad that I uninstalled a week into the season. 

The only thing I can think of is they only fixed it for CONSOLE players, cause my PC experience was the opposite of what you described. They had even ruined Arenas, which used to be my favorite and only mode. So the platform difference is the only thing I can think of. Maybe I need to put it back on the PS4 and try that, but at the same time, I have been enjoying single player games again and can't think of anything that would make me WANT to come back to any PVP game these days. 

What makes me keep coming back to this game is the epic saga that some matches can encapsulate. Some games can be so epic when you have a solid team that wants to work together and you hit your shots and then someone goes down and you make a good pick up, and the nades are going off and then you make a good play, good call out, or a super cool rotation, or turn the tides on a squad that had every advantage. All of this happening under the stress of a closing ring. All this culminating in the final battle of the final ring, and you hit that last shot, and the word champion flashes up to congratulate you. It’s such a satisfying experience when the game plays out like a freaking awesome twenty minute movie. 

I hear you. I readily admit that even with the improved matchmaking I can still only stomach a half dozen matches at most before I have to retire to a palate-clearing round of Reach firefight. So while matchmaking is better, none of the rest of the crippling failures of this game seem to have improved.

To this day I still try to fathom what it is that drives people to game on PC. It makes sense if you already have one, a decent one, and just want to leverage the gear and not have to clutter your life with more devices in the form of consoles. I can also understand the desire for the best possible graphical fidelity. But a good console these days is pretty good. Certainly good enough to give me justification for avoiding anything that runs Windows. Been there. Done that. Don't need to do it ever again. And then there's the cheat industry. I'm not saying that console users haven't found ways to cheat, but it pales in comparison to the military-industrial-cheat complex that revolves around PCs. And I would love to know how many of the PC players who rail against AA are actually running one form or another of cheat while STILL advocating for a further hobbling of consoles. The cynic in me says it's probably a lot of them.

But yes, in the end PvE is the future of gaming for anyone with any awareness at all of what goes on in competitive multiplayer games. I'm sure there are good new single player games out there, but I still find myself defaulting to a fifteen year old version of Halo as the gold standard. Maybe I'm just not looking around enough? Every time I think I might have found something that looks good I find out that it's only on steam. Oh.... THAT'S why people play on PC!

I really liked your answer a lot, and it made me feel like a jaded old curmudgeon that I've completely lost the ability to look at matches in that way. When I lose I feel like everyone else has an aimbot and when I win I feel like the matchmaker went out of its way to find the worst of the worst so I could have a good match. Which makes me appreciate that match not at all. I guess that's pretty cynical, but I'm only that way about the game, not about real life. Much. At any rate, thank you for the wake up call to just start appreciating the good with the bad and trying to live a little more in the moment. Good advice for us all.

Meta of legends and weapons is terrible. Only Ash/Ballistic/Alter/Sparrow + 30-30/G7 + other snipers.

Giants and legends without skills that give free movement are the carpets this season.

The game has become boring and predictable.

Solo "q" has never been as tragic as it is this season. This season in 99% of games you get teammates who have no idea how to play and leave as soon as someone kills them, but you have to face 3stacks with nicknames like TTV, Tiktok, YT, LIVE etc.

Pubs are unplayable due to this legends setup, TTK and the amount of cheaters. After the first ring there are a few teams left to the end.

Cronus and XIM are still working. Today I personally witnessed someone having 0 recoil.

What more can I say? Come in and see for yourself how Respawn killed their own game. This game only deserves to have all of its servers shut down forever after they completely ruined the playability of 70% of legends. 

People who have played this game for years or since its release have been wiped out if they are loyal to their own mains. You don't play the meta that Respawn is enforcing = delete this game and don't waste your time and nerves.
