I can't speak specifically on the bocek, but I definitely can tell you that this season is the "anti-midrange" season. CR and TT are harder to find than ever (though at least not locked up in a care package) and the scopes that make these guns work (3x & 2/4x) are also harder to find than ever. If you want to midrange this season it seems to be the scout or the 30-30, which from what I've seen are both everywhere.
As a matter of speculation, it seems to me that Respawn gets their feelings hurt when they design a half-assed gun that no one wants to use. So they reduce the frequency of guns with higher pick rates by way of forcing us to pick up things we wouldn't otherwise use. I can't fathom any other explanation for why the ground is always littered with prowlers, scouts, shotguns, and pistols. The only weapon I can think of that bucks the trend is the nemesis. It's stupidly overpowered AND everywhere all at once. Though I bet both those things change next season after everyone has bought every skin they want for it.
It definitively is the “anti-midrange” season. Besides the CP system, the whole weapon pool needs a total overhaul. In my opinion put a gun like the devotion in the CP. An already hopped-up and slightly buffed version of the devotion would actually give it a reason to be used. Otherwise you get what we have now everyone searching for the same five guns from a floor filled with Scouts, Prowlers, Evas, and pistols.
An updated floor loot system with a way more diverse spawn rate and a CP update would benefit the game immensely.As for my opinion of new CP guns i think it should be: Devotion/Nemesis, Prowler, Kraber and G7 Scout/Peacekeeper.
Obviously my opinion, which means they prolly don’t align with others but i don’t think it would be bad.
- @Benne60 With the release of the nemesis which excels at mid range id say this season is not anti mid range in fact it actually promotes sniping and midrange this season over up close battles.
As for carepackage wep rotations imo there are only a few guns that should be in it. L-star, Kraber, Bow, Knife all others for me as a player does not belong in it. I'd let the craft station govern the other weps.You’re right about the Nemesis. But i do feel the spawn rate for guns like the TT for example is too low and the spawn rate of guns like the Scout and 30-30 is too high (although i like the 30-30) to really promote mid-range.
I also understand your opinion on CP weapons and i guess “special weapons”. But in my opinion the Bocek did fit the game. It’s just mostly people being annoyed about the ammo since it only fits one gun. In my opinion this isn’t a problem and if anything, this is Apex, which means they could just overhaul the gun to fit sniper ammo and remove arrows. Keeping the same damage and mechanics. Maybe removing the ability to pick up already shot arrows (if keeping the arrows in the game)
I agree on “special weapons” being in the CP but imo those are just the Kraber and Knife and then rotating three other guns more often than not.The Bocek just shouldn’t be locked up forever since it’s alredy been ground loot for so long and it’s a favorite gun for those who like to and can use it. But removing arrows is justifiable.
- @Benne60 Many of the guns you mentioned have already done stints in the care package. Devo awhile ago. Prowler and G7 recently.
I believe there should be care package guns only like the kraber. Mastiff should go back to that. I'd leave the bow as the permanent mid range weapon, lstar as the permanent lmg and release a new smg that is care package only.I understand the idea of permanent CP weapons however i don’t think the Bocek should be one of them. As for Devotion and G7 i think it’s been long enough since the Devotion was in there and i don’t feel like the G7 adds anything special.
The L-star could defo be permanent and obv Kraber and Knife. Otherwise i like the idea of rotating CP weapons, it’s just executed poorly.
