Care package weapon

Care package weapons are usually the ones that are either strong, or very consistant.

You can see that with Kraber which can down people with one shot.

Or with Alternator, Spitfire, G7 Scout and Triple Take,

because of their consistancy.

My question is, why is Alternator in the care package after it's been a whole season (or more) since it's been there.

There is one weapon, that is far more consistant, precise, easy to use, and more,

and that gun is no other than R-301.

- A gun with medium fire rate, good damage, okay magazine size if you have extended mag,

accuracy, almost non existant recoil, usable in basicaly any range,

and it's iron sights are one of the best in the game imo...

I didn't play through all seasons so fill me in on this one guys,

has R301 ever been in a care package?

  • @damsonwhufndthis R301 has never been carepackaged. Carepackage Alternator is much stronger than the r301. Usually items stay in the care packages multiple seasons and then come out. This is why the alternator stays in it.

@damsonwhufndthis It's got a watered down version of an old hop up - disruptor rounds, plus all the usual CP conversion buffs.

These used to do 1.35× damage to shields at one point and the alternator subsequently dominated apex for a period. They then lowered the value to 1.25× and the thing sill shredded.

Idk what the value is at now but its still powerful.

@damsonwhufndthis Disruptor rounds. That hop up was removed since it was so OP. You can easily wipe a whole squad with a disruptor alternator and a hammerpoint P2020.

Disruptor rounds - 1.5x dmg multiplier to shields
Hammerpoint rounds - 2.35x dmg multiplier to flesh enemies

Crack the shield with the alternator then immediately switch to the P2020 = dead enemy in seconds

Idk what they thought would happen when they let weapons do increased damage...

Like, you have certain fire rate and damage,

    say 10 damage every bullet,

which in turn 25% more damage means 12 damage per bullet,

now let's say we live in perfect world and both players hit every shot but one of them has hop up,

they both fire 10 bullets, one does 100 damage, other does 120 damage,

despite them both playing it right one wins because of better gun,

    and that wouldn't be fair..

But what I meant is that they could bring Alternator to ground loot, without hopup slot and hopup..

Essentialy, they could have just guns with hop ups,

but the only way to get hop up would be through game generated care package.

But than again that would add luck which is not fun always.
