Coming back after patches feels like homework sometimes

Whenever I come back to a live service game after a few weeks away, I feel like I missed a bunch of homework.

There are patch notes, balance changes, item changes, hero changes, weapon changes, meta shifts, and half the time I only care about the one character or build I actually play.

For people who play casually, do you usually catch up on patch notes before jumping back in, or do you just queue and figure it out?

I’m mostly wondering if people care about the whole patch, or only the changes that affect their main, role, build, or loadout.
