I haven't played Apex on a console and have only messed about very briefly with an Xbox Elite Wi-Fi controller in the training lobby. All of my time in Apex has been spent playing on PC using a mouse and keyboard. Because I believe it's the most sporting way to play Apex, as there is no assistance from the game itself, unlike controllers which do have aim-assist.
The worst aspect of my lobbies by far, though, is how I can play for hours or days, or maybe even weeks, with awful teammates against seemingly invincible enemies. Last night was like this, when I had low-level teammates against low-level enemies, and what seemed be an enormous amount of undisguised cheating. There was also a lot of hateful talk which I have recorded, edited and will submit to EA.
I think lobbies should be separated by controller type. The 40% aim-assist of controllers on PC must surely be because 60% is thought by the developers to be too strong against mouse and keyboard users. I would also like more PC players to use mouse and keyboard and I see lobbies dedicated to mouse and keyboard as the way to achieve that.
Playing on mouse and keyboard is much more stressful compared to a controller and is probably the best indication of just how unfair it is to mix control types in the same lobby.
But if there were a way to guarantee more enjoyable games in terms of teammates and opponents and fair play, I would take that over these other problems any day.
When you consider all of the nice things that players have been given, such as powerful aim-assist, mixed platform lobbies, freedom of control choice and mixed control lobbies, you can see that it hasn't really had a positive effect on players' attitudes to one another or how they approach fair play. In fact, these problems probably just get worse.
TLDR: Console lobbies are obviously easier. Because players controller users on console are supported by 60% aim-assist but only 40% aim-assist on PC versus 0% aim-assist if you're using mouse and keyboard.
Plus, all of these additional aspects of consoles such as 'crossplay', etc. haven't improved players attitudes anyway.
I just want a return to the golden heyday of PC only games with mouse and keyboard and see no reason why we couldn't have this in Apex.
