If you scroll to the section that states Don't cheat in game. You will see they state cheating can include but is not limited to third party software.

Mods on your controller that take over functions or actions for you, I think would be cheating. So using things that rapid fire single weapons for you, mods that reduce or eliminate gun recoil and so on.

If you want to stay safe I would not use any third party software or mods on the controller. Now using an elite type of controller that has paddles and simply mapping buttons to those paddles would not be cheating. That is simply moving one buttons functions to the paddle. For example I have crouch/slide/jump mapped to the paddles on my controller.

Keep in mind compatible simply means it works with the game, it does NOT mean it's approved by EA to be used in the game. Those are two entirely different things.

@DarthValtrex Shoot one biggest streamers in the game on console brags about his strike packs and extra paddles and such. I doubt anything will be done to restore the balance of the game to its original state. Instead we just gonna allow players to mod everything to be better at the game.

@dabbnsports Yes all of that is cheating.

@E9ine_AC You can have extra paddles without being a cheater. I have the PS paddles and having jump and crouch underneath is nice.

@E9ine_AC I think the TOS is good, it being vague them gives them a ton of flexibility in enforcement. When you have things clearly defined it's easier for people to create something that does not fit into that specific definition.

But when it's vague and says No cheating or has the "but is not limited to" if people start using some kind of cheat that's not specifically defined, they can still take action.

There is one famous streamer who says he cheats and jokes about it but he does not.

@DarthValtrex Well problem with this is that what about innocents who had zero idea because the TOS doesn't state that its wrong. What if someone adds something then banned for adding it to controller when the TOS doesn't say you cant use it or can.

This leads to huge backlash to a company. This means they potentially are banning accounts of some who spent thousands because the TOS doesn't state its wrong. Grey areas can not be a thing in business. This is a business. You cant operate at those levels and expect players to follow you.

@E9ine_AC If I was the OP I would not buy anything that is easily programmable for macros. Personally I see nothing wrong with buying an official back button from Sony or an Elite controller from Microsoft.

@E9ine_AC Third party software is third party software. I get what you're saying but people know when they are doing something they should not be. They have plenty of avenues to find out as well.

@DarthValtrex But there is not plenty of Avenues. There is the TOS only. There is no dev stating this or that cant be used. There is no dev saying this or that is punishable. It is a completely grey area. There is no information on it. People don't want to go by what players say on reddit or these forums. They want to go by what the devs consider ok and not ok.

Wanna know why none of it is dealt with? Because nearly every big streamer would be banned for modding the game mechanics. They are scared of losing that player base and it would be a lot. I have very keen eye. I know exactly what to look for and have found on some very big streamers.

When your on mouse and keyboard and you get to the lobby and see a controller icon.... Boom this streamer is using Xim to grant himself aim assist. Mods are mods no grey areas can be here.
