If you scroll to the section that states Don't cheat in game. You will see they state cheating can include but is not limited to third party software.
Mods on your controller that take over functions or actions for you, I think would be cheating. So using things that rapid fire single weapons for you, mods that reduce or eliminate gun recoil and so on.
If you want to stay safe I would not use any third party software or mods on the controller. Now using an elite type of controller that has paddles and simply mapping buttons to those paddles would not be cheating. That is simply moving one buttons functions to the paddle. For example I have crouch/slide/jump mapped to the paddles on my controller.
Keep in mind compatible simply means it works with the game, it does NOT mean it's approved by EA to be used in the game. Those are two entirely different things.

- @DarthValtrex Shoot one biggest streamers in the game on console brags about his strike packs and extra paddles and such. I doubt anything will be done to restore the balance of the game to its original state. Instead we just gonna allow players to mod everything to be better at the game.
- @E9ine_AC You can have extra paddles without being a cheater. I have the PS paddles and having jump and crouch underneath is nice.
@hayhorYea i get that. Thing is though. A mod is a mod. A third party application to gain an advantage over others (those who don't use mods) is by their TOS punishable offense. They either need to change this or stop the grey area bs and come out and say hey this is allowed this isn't.
Why should players take the risk of devs not relaying proper information on what is allowed what isn't. Then when banned some the team is like uhh you know why. Giving zero direction giving zero reasons. This is because grey areas exist.
While I don't care about controllers or what they have or use they need to go change up the TOS or make it more clarified.
