Crafting Materials! How many you got? Will they become Worthless?

Im currently sitting on 3,600 crafting materials. At launch i bought enough boxs to get the wraith knife. I dont have any regrets on that as i really enjoy this game with over 650hrs played and was happy to support the launch of the game. As the game progressed though, i found very little use out of crafting materials. After this crown event where the new skins were locked behind a new currency, im quite skeptical about the future for crafting materials. Seems like theyll only be for the basic boring skins or when a new character is released while the cool skins will be locked behind big pay walls.

So my question is to the community- What would you like to see done with crafting materials?

Personally id like to see crafting materials have more freedom in what to purchase and for it to be rewarded for maybe weekly challenges. Itd be nice to do challenges for 20-50 crafting materials. Itd give players a real sense of progression for skins they want while baiting them to constantly log in.

I wouldnt mind if event skins were more expensive to craft, maybe 1600 instead of 1200 materials?

Personally i think nothing will change.
With this event they promote a new wave of skins and stuff tradable only by a currency that has been made specially for the Iron Crown. Actually did not really worked out and now the shop has been brought back to normal (currency and price-wise) so, we can easily assume that has been just a marketing move and that something like this will never gonna happen again so, no worries for your crafting materials!

Lol, are you crazy? Not everyone spent over 500 bucks on ingame purchases and now sits on 3.000 cm.
I currently have 1.750 cm just waiting for a release of a new legend, in order to get the best legendary skin immediatly after release.
What makes you think they become worthless?

196 lolz,wasted all my materials on crafting a terrible epic bloodhound skin which I regret to this day

I have 14somethingsomething. With the added crowns I’ll be at 1500+ @PlugYourMudd

I have 770, next 1200 i reach is getting me that bumblebee mirage skin. ;p
Why blend into the map when you can be a bright yellow bullet sponge.

Are you sure you aren't talking about legend tokens, which actually are worthless? Crafting materials definitely have a purpose and are not worthless.

Well,in the beginning(and now)I was a noob who only used to play bloodhound,so I literally just wanted a skin for him.
And right after that,the legendary hunt event was launched,so I got another bloodhound skin

@SS_Mabezan Lolz ahhh... too bad. It seems like bloodhound’s the event skin character. So don’t purchase skins for him! :P

I’ve always been and will likely always be a bloodhounder! Cause I smell fear and weakness and flush it out! :P I’m gonna purchase the Clean Kill finisher... and I don’t even use finishers! XD

@SixthOTD nope i mean Crafting Materials. I understand not everyone has thousands of them. But the people that did go for the Wraith Heirloom do and they all have nothing to spend them on. A lot of us went for it with the idea that our crafting materials would be usable for skins we want in the future. For example, In overwatch you can Craft the Event skins at a 3X price point. In apex you cant craft Event. We are limited to the Basic.
