Crates, walls, and doors

Question

I realize that realistically a machine gun bullet would definitely pierce a wall or crate if one were shot through it in real life, but I wish they would change them back to absorbing shots so we can hide behind them as cover again.

Maybe color code some to be bulletproof while the others shots go through them the way they do now. I think making shots go through crates was the worst season 20 change, and it needs to be reversed.

I forget sonetimes and try to hide and get cover, and even see on mixtape where I got shot through a crate. (It says "you" above me and the person shoots. I would be doing a lot better if I could get cover, especially since most players down me in under 3 shots.

This would be appreciated of the whole community I think if the crates and walls/doors were set back to shots not going through them. Cover used to be an important strategy for me and there's no way I can face people head on so the only kills I get now are when I sneak up on someone.

@reconzeroIt might be since I haven't compared other versions. As of season 20 I haven't been able to be saved by taking cover, even shutting doors in front of me I still get hit, ducking behind crates I've still taken shots from the front. I didn't know other systems haven't experienced it, but other switch players on my Nintendo friends list have noticed it too.

I wanted to add, this isn't from players cheating because it happens when the firing range dummies are in combat mode too. So I thought it was part of the updates that bullets would now go through objects to make it more realistic.

@reconzero It's very likely a switch desync thing. Remember, a switch is on 20 frames at best and I don't think a switch can have wired internet so wifi as well.

Yeah, if the fps and wifi are issues then they really need to find a workaround for this since you don't hear of other games having this problem. For instance, I play monster hunter rise on switch with players from other systems and it works fine, and I have no delays syncing with other players, which in that game you have monsters in the advanced stages that have special moves that can one shot you with even a delay of a millisecond.

I think if they are going to have apex on the switch they should work on syncing it up with the other systems or else sunset the game the way they did the mobile version. Maybe make it a separate game just for switch players and not allow cross play if they can't.

Plus the game ran great prior to season 20 so the potential is there. With season 20 you can see the graphics were greatly downgraded (almost pixilated in places) and the movement was slowed down greatly. I hope they fix the switch version back to what it once was.

I have to say as a day one player that doesn't play as much as in the past - for obvious reasons.... even myself playing yesterday for a short period of time - I also was in full cover for at least 4 solid seconds which to me would rule out lag... and saw all the bullets go through the cover I was behind and knock me.

I have no idea what this game is anymore. It is anything but the Apex I fell in love with.
