Cross progression answers please

Regarding the heirlooms I'm not saying they should get heirlooms.  When I downloaded Rocket League to my PC I was able to retrieve all of my cosmetics from my PS4 account.  I did however need to start from level one.  It was as if I started a brand new account but with all of my cosmetics from my PS4 account.  Many other games do cross progression or cross save.  This doesn't really effect anybody who has been playing on one platform but rather the ones who have switched.  So in that regard this is merely just for people who have switched, why wouldn't you do everything you possibly could do do make a merge?  If this update is for the people who have switched, I don't understand why merging is anything but the only option.  Like I said before, what is the point of this update when all I have to do to mimic it is to turn of my PC and turn on my console.  Is it frame rate?  Or is it just dumping out updates?  Or maybe it's a way for EA to have you pick an account to spend more money on.  If fortnite can do cross progression or cross save then I'd like to know why apex can't.  They're lots of other games that do this as well.  It's not a secret that this can be done.  So if it can be done and Respawn is opting to go a different route then I'd like to know exactly why.  I feel as though the answer may fall under money.  Making you choose an account to progress on so they can ask for more money.  Free games are absolutely designed to make you spend money on them, so it wouldn't surprise me if this is the case.  The problem is that these accounts have already, at least in my case, shown a loyalty to this game and a willingness to spend money.  With that said to have the company make you choose one account essentially abandon another just to try and gain what you had on the other account is the middle finger I'm talking about.  The loyalty was there for respawn, where is it to the fanbase?  Nobody asked for this, when cross progression was first mentioned everybody was thinking the same thing.  A merge.  Maybe nobody said it, but everybody was thinking it.  Is it hard?  Probably.  Is it impossible? I'd say no given that multiple other games have done it.  There is either a lack of motivation or a lack of leadership at respawn and if I were to wager any money I'd say both. 

No I disagree with that.  That's like saying if I work two jobs I should only get paid for one.  You can't play apex on two different accounts at the same time.  Also, if somebody switched platforms it's likely they are not going back to the old platform they were playing on.  Most people that have switched have switched from console to PC, so they've grinded or paid for things and switched to PC.  Most people, not all.  Cross progression had been whispered and talked about for at least a year now.  It makes sense to me to merge.  I understand the hurtles.  I get that it's hard, but when your player base is rewarding you with over a billion dollars..... do better.

If you have 2 accounts you are getting 2x the free content anyways.  I don't think that point really holds much water.  You've done the work, you've spent the money, whether it is on one or two accounts it doesn't matter.  Having two, three, four or even five separate accounts actual enables you to do what you are talking about.  Having one and only one account doesn't.  Duplicate items and content I agree are an issue but I think what ea/respawn is doing here is taking the easy way out and instead of giving the people what is truly being asked for they are taking the easy way out for one reason or another and letting everyone * for a while and then everybody shuts up and goes on their marry little way.  I'm saying I'm not.  I'm voicing my concerns with what they are doing.  In my mind a company that grosses over a billion dollars because of the fan base for a free game should be doing better.  It's obviously a clear indicator that either respawn or EA doesn't care about the fans of this game they just care about the money.  OK fine, that's completely their choice and it's also mine to take my money elsewhere.  Just because something something is hard to do doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be done.  So I'm taking this as a serious red flag and in the end it's just a game so no big deal right.  I just leaves a bad taste in my mouth the way they are dealing with it and they way they have dealt with stuff in the recent past.  I mean there has to be a reason practically everybody just up and left right?  I don't know man.  Those are just my thoughts and I don't think I'm alone on this one.

no, you're not alone. i've been struggling since s3 (so years) to pray for Merge of the Cross Progression.

 

if and when Cross Progression will arrive, if there won't be Merge, this is going to be a real big Legal fraud for all those who spent Money & Time in their first account on console and  Money & Time again on their new second account on PC, or vice versa.

 

i'm so disappointed and so angry.

Duplicate items? I could say 2 options:
for each same common craftable cosmetic -> 5 crafting metals,
for each same rare craftable cosmetic -> 10 crafting metals,
for each same epic craftable cosmetic -> 20 crafting metals,
for each same legendary craftable cosmetic -> 50 crafting metals,
for each same heirloom -> 100 crafting metals;
and if they don't even want this, so Peace. Amen. zero rewards in exchange, only one copy of the redundants, and go on. This is not the point: people wanting Merge don't care about packs counter, they only want their cosmetics, which they payed for, all together in one single account.

mmmh, ok, perhaps they wouldn't get to count all the packs towards an Heirloom, but this is NOT the point: you can even reset my counter to zero packs towards the heirloom, but give me my skins and my stuff back. which i payed for these. and united to the new ones, which i've also payed for, too.

Then there is the issue of what to do about duplicate items/content.

There are dozens of reasons merging accounts is not happening.

most people reaching level 500 already opened all free packs years or months ago... have you ever opened an Apex pack? most times the content is white, blue, white, that is common, rare, common... can you imagine how many common duplicates would be merged? and you say "free content"... is really giving a legendary skin or a couple of epic skin the real problem?

Hey uhh What about Xbox and PlayStation I mainly use Xbox but then I downloaded Apex on PlayStation five and then it had me do all the stuff and as soon as I thought that it was about to merge both of my accounts it had separate so please make it merging accounts 😢
