As Addhocc said, nobody is against them, we all understand that they need money to keep developing the game. All we want is for them not to be exploitative. Every player would benefit from that, yet you are here fighting against it..
Do you really think that its ok to charge 11€ for a border? That border most likely only took 1 artist a few hours to make and its price is 1/6th of a AAA game which takes hundreds of people years to make, if you put both of those into perspective this is a joke. I get it that you can't directly compare those since not a lot of people would get the border, but its still too much.
On top of that, if that's the only thing you want, you have to spend 20€ to get an item that costs 11€.
How can you be okay with that? Its absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not even against lootboxes, like a lot of people are, I'd just like them to be a bit more reasonable, that's all.
I think your expectations are a bit high.
There are tons of FREE games that follow this exact same model. Path of Exile is a perfect example. Their MTX are insane, you can pay like $60 for a full cosmetic set, and their graphics are not great at all. BUT, their game is 100% free, no P2W, and they have provided expansion after expansion, patch after patch, content after content 100% free.
So $11 (or euros) for a border when you don't HAVE to buy it, fine by me. To your second point about it taking 1 artist a few hours. What about the 1000's of hours it took dozens of programmers to create the content for this game? I'm not white knighting behind EA at all, I've disliked EA with every bit of my being for years now but I think they are perfectly fine with this game.
Right now, there is limited content and we are in its 2nd week. When battle pass releases, I bet there will be easier access to content, loot, boxes, cosmetics, etc.
I just cant fathom gamers not supporting targeted buying. Its a pretty basic concept that they woud make more money if players were given the option to simply buy what they want. How many more people would be comfortable opening their wallets to purchase specific items with Apex Coins? While there is no math that could ever be given to answer that I dont think its farfetched at all for there to be a general feeling of "A lot".
