DAE feel jealous when other games such as Fortnite do some things better?

for example

much better servers that don't cause as many issues. one of the rare times where the servers died, they wrote an apology and compensated the player base for the inconvenience in season 3.

the item shop has way more variety with way better deals and offers.

Many of the skins are way better because they are more customizable with edit styles, alot more effort are put into them, and sometimes they give you free recolors and extra edit styles later down the line at no additional charge.

constant changes to the map and adding different and fun mechanics. (some of them such as the robot mecs were pretty bad but otherwise fun and strong)

fun collabs such as thanos events, rick and morty skins, the marshmellow and travis scott concerts, the soon to be released naruto skins, the marvel and dc skins and events, and the list goes on.

I play from chapter 1 season 3 to chapter 2 season 2 before hanging the towel and moving on to apex right at the start of season 6 but I won't lie, I'm sometimes tempted to just

come back just for old times. apex is fun but it's also incredibly frustrating at the same time. I'm not saying apex needs to have all of the stuff that fortnite has but I wish they could

do more and try to improve the game for everyone.

@Redmattgame You know, now that I think of it, I somewhat agree with you.

If you can live with Fortnite's, big eyed, cartoon look with clowns, banana people, and supposedly serious soldiers (and Batman, and stormtroopers, etc.), and that sort of inconsistency, then I would say they are both better at their cheap 'green' skins and that they don't push loot box nonsense.

Apex basic art to me is much better in that it is more serious, each character is far more detailed, but the base chaff is awful.  Cheap 'gray' skins were clearly meant for you to invest time, and are dead loot box drops to encourage more money spending.  It's just that their top tier, gold skins, and their skins from FOMO special events tend to be better imo.

I've always thought you should just allow people to buy the skin they want, but when you are looking to milk people for money, you tap into their lack of gambling resistance, animal brain part and do loot boxes.

  • @KelRiever I've always been amazed that Apex has never implemented a recycling the unwanted skins for crafting materials thing because many of the cheap skins are just unwanted clutter.
  • @soccerking122 No jealousy on my end. I used to play Fortnite up until around chapter 2, but I still hop on for a match from time to time and have fun. Apex is my main BR for sure though (since launch, I've been hooked). I play many different games though, because I like variety. One game cant really encompass everything I am looking for. I play all sorts of genres, and titles within those genres. Different dev studios have different approaches.

On a typical week day, I hop on Apex first, when I get home from work. I play a few matches until I feel like playing something else, and then load up a different game. My gamerscore on Xbox is coming up on 64k at this point. Fortnite definitely has some cool things, as does Apex. The only thing they have in common, imo, is they are both BR games.

@Redmattgame I could be mistaken, but that might have something to do with heirloom probability? I remember reading something about heirloom chances. It said something along the lines of: If you want to increase your chances of getting a legend's heirloom, unlock ALL skins/banner/frames etc, and it somehow effected your chances of pulling an heirloom, due to everything else for that legend already being unlocked. I could very well be mistaken, or that could have changed after the shard rework, but I do remember seeing something to that effect, a long time ago.

@damsonwhufndthis Or better still just stick with the status quo & so we are forced to keep all the unwanted skins that we will never use anyway. At least with Fifa in Ultimate Team they have always offered the chance to cash in unwanted players (rather the auction them) to help fund players you want same principle could apply to Apex.

Apex and Fortnite are completely disposable games, things make more sense when thought of that way
