Sort of, mostly. I mean, the games can be fun but there is just no progression unless, yknow I've said this before, you are really a Masters player moving through the ranks.I think this is the rank which I sort of regret bothering with, in the sense of now I'm playing Ranked a lot less. Mind you, I am going pug, and I'm pretty sure you don't advance through Diamond without a team. GG Respawn, as always, on that by the way :P (super sarcasm if you couldn't tell).The players haven't been bad, mostly, so far on the mic. But there's little point for a mic, really, I've found. Battles, once engaged, leave little time for strategy. All the talk, if any, is just about map movement. My best games still have me just slightly negative in RP so far, so...again...I mean, is Diamond like mostly filled with Diamond IVs? That's what it looks like to me.There were dumb things that happened in lower ranks but great things too. Diamond seems to be very static in entertainment level.

@KelRiever Great that you made it to diamond as a solo.In order to make master you will have to have a team because as we all know playing with Randoms at all ranks is well just random and a good solo player can only mitigate the RP gain/loss so much and the higher the rank the harder it is to mitigate that.At that point it is probably fair to say play pubs and if you find a couple of good players while doing that than drop into ranked for a few fun games with them.Good luck whatever you do.

@KelRiever I agree with what @Asmodeus566 said, you really need a team if you want to get to Master. I am currently on Plat 2, but as soon as I get to Diamond I can team with you if you want 🙂

@KelRiever You’re in diamond already? How many days are left in this split anyways? Still haven’t played apex (other than cheesing the anniv event) for more than a month now and I have this urge to grind to diamond again after I’m done with thing that’s keeping me busy. Sucks that the next split will be in the worst rank map in apex…

@Cheese9Man I have to agree with @MrCarri-X KC is a great map and I actually play better on that map than on others. to each there own and get your grind on.

In order to make master you will have to have a team because as we all know playing with Randoms at all ranks is well just random and a good solo player can only mitigate the RP gain/loss so much and the higher the rank the harder it is to mitigate that.
At that point it is probably fair to say play pubs and if you find a couple of good players while doing that than drop into ranked for a few fun games with them.

@Cheese9Man There were some productive days, and I did dedicate some time. I've learned to really control the loss of RP, and patience goes a long way. Probably I used to decry a 7th place finish, and rage if luck had it that I was dead 14th or lower place. But when you add it up over time, the mentality is to keep the gross number in mind, that it all works out, and you stick around for the games where you can place 5th or higher. Sometimes you'll get a 3rd, 2nd or 1st and these provide the proper boosts needed to climb.
Loss prevention (har har) is a critical aspect of rising through Plat for me. I think because -36 is enough entry to get serious about. The small mistakes start getting inflated so really paying attention and caring matters, I think. The biggest mistake, again, is trying to rescue an already dead team. I can't tell you how many times I fell to temptation and it costs hard. This is all when playing with the public of course, I imagine it is different when playing with your mates.

@Asmodeus566 IMO, the hardest part is finding a team that cares enough to actually progress through the ranks without leaving after a couple of bad games. I feel like a lot of the "hard stuck diamonds" including myself could easily push through diamond no problem if finding like-minded that are consistent wasn't as hard as it is now.

@KelRiever What you mention about the -36s is why I don't get the whole contested drop, early kp stuff. It's so rng dependent. You can lose a 100 points in the matter of minutes.

I agree it is not all that easy. I have a set squad but we pretty much only have Fridays together to play as a trio. the rest I have to do with Randoms or hope that one of my teammates has an hour or so during the regular week. Unlike many others here my Random experience is mostly positive, yes there are times when Randoms can be a pain and I am sure they think the same about me sometimes.
If you do not have a steady team you will have to find the occasional diamonds in the rough and as we all know diamonds are not always perfect and can loose their appeal after a while.
Enjoy them while they last and find new ones if you can.
