I'm probably gonna get some flak for this behind the scenes, so yeah if you're reading this, I'll be expecting the inbox message 😉.
A l ot of Gamers nowadays are a bunch of butthurt dweebs. They think it's funny to lash out at devs etc with abusive messages, and the moment there's a hint of retaliation they cry victim, and the rest of the playerbase rallies behind them as if there was a serious line crossed, it's pretty pathetic.
You dish it out, expect it back, idc whether or not it's deemed professional or not.

@MandatoryIDtag“Kick rocks” wasn’t all that bad tbh, but have you read the rest of it? Ryan claims victory, after the redditer deleted his comments and admitted he was in the wrong, not only does he keep at it on reddit, but drags it out on Twitter, was it really necessary?

@Gabrielmojo26 Nah that bit is just petty, he should have just took his victory like a champ and left it at what was said.
You've known me long enough to know I'm not some boot licker, I'm just tired of the attitude some of the gaming community has that's all.
Animosity between a development studio and its playerbase really doesn't benefit anyone.
- 4 years ago@Gabrielmojo26 That's kinda cringe to be honest. Should have left it at reddit. He'll probably continue this though since the replies definitely had "simp" vibes over him. LMAO.
- Gabrielmojo264 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cheese9Man And then they wonder why some players are being so damn toxic at each other.
- pandareno19994 years agoHero+@Gabrielmojo26 Even more so regretting my earlier expressed opinion on this one. Did that particular bit of the thread end up deleted? I just searched the whole thread for "froth" but I only found the word in the summary of dev responses.
- 4 years ago@MandatoryIDtag Devs can say whatever they want, but they should also expect those statements to have an impact on an already volatile player base.
Making fun of your players on a personal level, and then backing it up and digging in and attacking even more, isn't just about the words. It's basically telling the player base "the situation you're going through is humorous to me and I could honestly care less what you think."
One final distinction that should be made is that the player in question never @ the dev or told him to do something to himself directly. He was responding to/conversing with another player, not the dev. There is quite a significant difference.
It's like if the government were discussion sanctions against Amazon's workplace conditions and then Amazon's official twitter feed started making fun of their drivers having to pee in bottles.... oh, wait. Yeah, that turned out well.- 4 years ago
The level of entitlement the playerbase has nowadays is far too high. I think it needs to come crashing down asap, otherwise it will end up ruining all gaming. It's good that Ryan responded, he's human, not a machine. He can't just endlessly sweep the trash under the rug.

For how much revenue this game makes it shouldn't be having these technical issues. There are pros and streamers who basically rely on games for their revenue too. Its getting better, but around the time when he made the comment about Facebook, you would lose the max RP per match every 1-3 out of 10 ranked matches due to being disconnected. I think the server issue might have been addressed by now. If that is the case, then a "We acknowledge there is a technical issue and we are working on it" is the only real response.
