Forum Discussion
Ever since the Iron Crown event Vince Zampella and many of the other higher ups had a talk and came to the conclusion to simply resort to what all other companies do.
Don't talk on/mention any negative thread or discussion on any major social media platform, only engage in the ones that praise you, celebrate your work or are positive in general (or jeark off to your own ego).
It's sad but there too many idiots in this world to realise that developers are just people at the end of the day and don't need to be executed at a firing squad for bumping the damage of the R-99 by 1 point.
So yea, as for the OP this won't change any time soon and you'll have to accept it.
Any hour spent on the forums explaining the same things over and over again is an hour not spent on actually fixing or developing new content, or an hour taken off the afterwork life. Sure, you may say they can hire a dedicated person to do this, but that's actually the job of community moderators. They also need to interrupt the devs from their work in order to raise the relevant questions and get answers.
Also, the vast majority of people don't listen. They would just push for things to go their way, even in a disrespectful manner sometimes. That's not a proper conversation, the roasting would only kill their drive to interact with the community and even to develop.
Another thing, the devs are like one year in the future with the game, upcoming legends, map, weapons, items, game modes etc. might already be at testing phase. Each post would have to be thoroughly checked so that nothing spills out. They'd also have to be careful not to fall for traps, resulting in community taking words out of context or figuring out upcoming features.
The solution is not necessarily to have the devs here. Longterm, the best thing is to have a tech blog like Riot's , where the gaming community can get educated on development. We can't really talk about a proper conversation before this step. But such a thing takes time, a tech blog can't just pop up overnight. Also, certain things may not be relevant after a few years. when new tech or tools roll out, so it might not even be worth spending valuable time to do such a blog. Actually, why not use Riot's?
