Funny how I can kill and play good/dodge bullets without playing my main Mirage?? I mean wth, I think this is a dead give away about mirages hitbox.. I don't play gibralter or caustic or bloodhound for the big hitbox reason. anyone out there that plays mirage have this issue?

Octane is my bullet sponge legend i just feel like bullets gravitate towards me when i'm using him lol.
I think the lag may the biggest culprit here, it affects tracking the targets and hit registration the most. The pace in Apex is very high, I think a variaton of 10-15 ms in response time matters way more than in a game like Overwatch. With a chosen legend, I've been able to dodge bullets easily at times, while becoming a bullet sponge when there was a slight amount of lag.
That would explain those insta-deaths I suffer from time to time, even with full armor (my ping is not below 100ms ever) 😢
I WISH I could dodge bullets as Mirage lol he'd be my main again :D

Mirage hitbox is the normalized size for champions. So when we get champions like LL and caustic who have variable sizes they are going to bug out especially when you spam crouch.
The problem might be more about how damage is calculated (any part of the body gives same value except head) which makes characters with square bodies such as mirage an easy target to spray down.
@HuntinwabitsMirage is an awesome legend, but it is not for everyone. This is no Wraith where every person can choose and jump instantly in the game and perform well. Mirage as you have probably noticed is quite hard to play, but if you master it it becomes killing machine.
I like Mirage very much and I'm often playing it although my main is Wraith. He is actually in Top 4 for smallest hit box out there so I do not think this is the problem.
