Does MM reset if you don't play for a while?

I took the weekend off for vacation and came back to murder bots everywhere.  I'm right where I started the season when I went 10 games with no kills and dying instantly.  It is ridiculous.

Does matchmaking reset if you don't play for a while?  What exactly is Respawn's default lobby assumption for returning players?
