@Daze623Yup, they never do server maintenance. In most of the games I have seen, you can't play during that period and they warn you beforehand. I can't tell why Apex never does it.
- @BaldWraithSimp That's weird. Even mobile games I play have atleast 1 hour maintenance for their servers.
@BaldWraithSimp“I can’t tell why Apex never does it”... well cause Apex (Legends) is a game and not an autonomous automaton! But I know why Respawn doesn’t do it...
Downtime means less sales, no downtime means plus sales. Here it’s explained well using different examples... just replace every example with downtime + sales: https://youtu.be/t1GPMO1Bp6k Watch from 1:20-2:14 xD
@Daze623 But in all honesty, it might be that Respawn does it but just not advertise it and they disguise it as ‘server having problems’@Daze623 I ain't seen any maintenance done on this game in any aspect. Got a strange error today too. Something about, "error persistence thread blah blah blah" somethin' or other.
- @pastaclown That error has been there for a long time (2 seasons I think) but it’s rare to get it
Yes, servers do go through maintenance, both lobby and match machines. Just a couple of days ago, 9 of the datacenters from the list were down. Also, the ones I use often, Frankfurt (1-2), goes to the bottom on a weekly basis, while their average ping keeps changing from 30-40ms to 60, which might indicate that different machines are allocated on regular basis. As for the match servers, we will never see them down, because that's the point of hybrid cloud. Where other games stop us from playing, due to server maintenance / load / etc., Apex just connects us to machines from the public cloud or to servers from other data centers.
If Apex would've had only dedicated servers then we probably would've seen some serious downtimes, consider by how much the game scales during peak times. We are talking days for each new big update.
