What's up with Cross Platform Progress Saves? It wasn't announced at EA Play. Do you guys have any news to give because this is just as important as cross play.
But I'm glad our voices have not fallen on deaf ears! I definitely expected a crossplay and Steam announcement but the switch was a surprise...
@RAAmses29Devs said a couple of months back that the engine doesn't allow cross-save. However, don't ask me why. I am as clueless as everyone else.
And cross-progression wasn't announced so it's safe to say not gonna happen anytime soon.

@westtunna @CompleatBeet we shall see what the future brings, who knows?EA/Respawn have been very responsive to player feedback and cross platform progression is something I see suggested quite a bit on the forum.
I think cross platform progression is going to be a tricky one to accomplish for a lot of reasons. Some of the big ones I see..
Merging the data, when they set up cross play they can set up servers/lobby that are dedicated to cross play and allow players from all platforms to log into that server/lobby. When it comes to accounts on xbox, PS or origin the data for your account is stored/saved on that platform. So it's quite a bit more then just accessing a server to play in/on.
There is some room for players to abuse this type of system. Play 2 accounts up to level 500 than attempt to merge the progression of the two. Each account would have unique cosmetics, a large portion of which was gained for free from leveling up. So now you have a situation in which a player is has basically doubled the amount of free premium content they have received.
So if they were to do something like this, they would have to give the player the choice of the cosmetics from 1 account or the other but not both or limit it the merger of the accounts to only being stats/badges.
Below is the very careful wording from the blurb, and there is no suggestion of cross progression amalgamation, just that you can play with friends on the other platforms. If you change platform situation remains the same as now.
I can see where this may be a issue currently with the black market in accounts, etc. But if when the move is made to cross play I can see no reason why your one account could not then be used on multiple platforms.
But this might have its difficulties too. As an example my son uses pc, as we linked his account onto my xbox ages ago (its not used much as no progression saving), so how could he then log on on to the xbox and keep progression?
Bit disapointing but understandable.

Sadly, as of right now the team working on Apex Legends are not working on and have no plans for cross-progression.
I really hope that it is possible for them to implement this system. Thank god they finally announced cross-play, but cross-progression is just as important in a competitive game like Apex where statistics matter.
I mean, let's look at other BRs. I know, I know, Apex are catching up with the latest announcements for fall/autumn 2020, but there is still one huge part missing. Even, even Realm Royale has cross-progression! ☹️
