Is Respawn actually working on banning cheaters?

At this point, cheaters are genuinely taking over Apex Legends and it feels like Respawn either doesn’t see it or doesn’t care enough to act fast.

Every single day I run into the same players abusing Cronus Zens, strike packs, configs, Titans, soft aim, recoil scripts, and wallhacks — especially in higher ranked lobbies. You report them over and over again and somehow they’re still online days or weeks later ruining matches for everybody else.

Why not start banning from the top Preds downward? The highest ranked players should be under the most scrutiny, not the least. If someone is dropping impossible accuracy numbers, beam tracking through smoke, zero recoil every fight, or constantly getting accused by the community, how are they still playing uninterrupted?

The report system honestly feels useless right now. Does it even work? Because a lot of us are reporting the same obvious cheaters repeatedly and nothing ever happens. Meanwhile legit players are losing RP, quitting ranked, and getting burned out from dealing with it nonstop.

Apex is one of the best BRs ever made mechanically, but the cheating situation is killing competitive integrity. Respawn needs more active anti-cheat monitoring, faster ban waves, hardware bans that actually stick, and manual reviews on top Predator accounts.

The community is tired of feeling ignored on this issue.

The honest answer is that as long as players populate the servers, all is fine with AE/Respawn, and player counts are up.

Yes, AE could hardware/kernal ban players, and they would be banned as long as they are using the same machine, but doing so would remove at least 20K (likely WAY more) players, and AE stock prices would likely be affected, so that's not happening.

Meanwhile, AE/Respawn can brag about shutting down cheating accounts to save face with uninformed players while these people immediately set up a new account and continue cheating. Next time you're quickly killed while not inflicting the same damage, look at the death summary and see how many times it was done by a sub-level 20 "new" player with God-like skills.

In a perfect world, some enterprising attorney would start a class action suit to provide relief for the thousands of people who've spent money on this game, only to be deprived of the enjoyment of a fair match. I, for one, would gladly contribute.

  • No, they don't care. I can list dozens of names right now for you, people who play Wildcard and cheat every day. And what? They won't do anything about it :) There's so much of it that sometimes there are probably more cheaters in the lobby than normal players. :)

I can tell you there are for sure measures in place. What I can also tell you is that I have been wrongfully perma-banned for "gameplay enhancement" because I played in the bot royale mode. I guess a win with 12 kills in a the game's own bot lobby is considered cheating.

I don't know if there was an automatic detection system of if it was from a player report...

I appealed twice and saw them denied. I just appealed a third time because I really don't intend on losing access to my Apex account.

    I love this game

I have been playing since season 1 and have spent at least, if not more than a thousand bucks on in-game cosmetics. So why would I all of a sudden risk it all ? It just wouldn't make sense.

I have always played fair, never cheated and never abused any glitches.

I respect everyone working on and around the game wether it be developers or customer support or anything else, but this feels unjust that an innocent player gets wrongfully punished when others actually break the rules.

I truly hope this issue can be resolved though.
