One of my close friends and longtime gaming buddies, gifted me an Elite 2.0 controller when my series 1 was getting really bad stick drift. I had the controller for less than 6 months, and then my RB got to be somewhat finicky. It still worked, but wouldn't register a good 25% of the time. Well, last night I hopped on, and it has now gotten to the point where it rarely registers input and I have to press the bumper at a really weird (and inconvenient) angle, in order to get it to register. In some games, it doesn't effect me one bit. In Apex though, I am a huge fan of the ping system, which has now been rendered mostly useless to me, which I friggin HATE. This current controller is actually the warranty replacement for the first one that I sent in with the same exact issue, which is now having the same issue within 6 months or replacement. Has anyone else had this issue with Elite 2.0 controllers and found a fix (not under warranty anymore, of course). Or even a suggestion for another brand that is durable and reliable? My one stipulation is that it MUST have paddles. I can not go back to playing FPS games without paddles, Lmao. I know Scuff were supposedly wonderful controllers back in the day, but they are also quite expensive, if memory serves me. I am going to give a very big two thumbs up for AIM Controllers, and I believe that @hayhor will back me up me on that. I've been using their PS5 controller for just under half a year, and man is it a good controller. Five months in, I can set a 1% deadzone with minimal drift, and the paddles are very well designed. I used Scuf before that, and the only thing I could say might be a little nicer on the Scuf is the smoothness of the thumbsticks' movement. My Scuf, by contrast, had stick drift pretty much right out of the box. I liked my Scuf, but by the time I had owned it for as long as I've been using AIM, both sticks had major drift and one of the paddle buttons wasn't working properly. I simply cannot recommend them due to their apparent QC issues. I sent it to them to be fixed (after warranty period expired, of course) and the cost to have it repaired was about the same as the cost of a new Sony controller, lol.

@dSKyNafinchin When they aren't under warranty, it's $100 USD for repair/replacement. It's pricey but beats buying a new one. I have 2 of them so I can always send one in for repair and still have one to use. The durability, in my experience, has gotten better in the last year or so. When I was looking for you, I noticed something that's a bit of a bummer. It appears that the xbox controller does not have an option for fully re-mappable buttons like the PS5 controller does. You have to choose which buttons will be assigned to the four paddles and that's what they will be forever I guess. But it's possible I'm wrong on that. An email to them should clear up the question. Since you've been playing with paddles already, I'd reckon you know which paddles you want assigned to which buttons. Any and all of the paddles can be removed easily - I only use two myself.

@pandareno1999I'm going on almost 10 months on my aim controller. No noticeable drift. One under button fatigued and broke 6 months in but for $10 they sent me another set of 4 buttons. I'm pretty happy with this. When I finally get to a major repair point my plan is to buy another one and send this one in for repair.I used to go through 1 dualshock 4 every 6 months due to sticks wearing out.

I've sent in my Elite 2 controllers multiple times for right bumper issues as well as clicking down on the left stick. Microsoft has been really good about fixing/replacing them. Typically, I have my controller back within a week. I'm not sure about another alternative though. These controllers are pretty great.

Are you sending them in for repairs/replacement while no longer under warranty? My warranty ran out a few days after I had the controller replaced, so I didn't think Microsoft would do anything with it. Out of curiosity, how much do they charge for fixing an issue like this with the RB? If I can get it fixed or replaced again by Microsoft, I would definitely prefer to just stick with the Elite. I just didn't think they would do anything once it is out of warranty.

I still have my series 1, as well as my standard controller that came with the console, so I would still be able to play games while I wait for it to come back and whatnot. I just can't use the old series 1 for Apex, because it has really bad stick drift, and I have the dead zone set pretty high to compensate

@EA_Aljo I appreciate the info! I'll definitely have to see about getting mine repaired/replaced soon. No matter what I decide, I would like to continue using my Elite controllers as long as I can, even if I try another brand as well

@pandareno1999 I'll have to look more into these when I get home. At first glance at their website, it doesn't look like they have the bottom/rear paddles? I definitely have to have paddles on my FPS controller, these days. I only looked at their website for a minute though, so I might have just not seen it yet. I appreciate the recommendation and info, as well! I'm looking at all options, at the moment.

@pandareno1999 Haha good lookin out! I'm ok without paddles when I'm playing Farming Sim or Assassin's Creed and whatnot, but they are a MUST for any FPS

Hmmm, I'll definitely have to get clarification on that before I go ahead with a purchase. That's one benefit of the Elite controller that I really love. I have different saved controller configs for different games/different genres. I don't use the same paddle layout for each game. If all else fails, I could get an AIM and config that paddles strictly for Apex, and just use it for that.

I'll definitely be looking into these more. Much appreciated!

Something I want to mention, that isn't very well explained on AIM's website, is the thumbstick setup. They are fully modular (I think similar to elite?), with top parts that lock very securely in place. There are two styles, one the same as PS5 sticks and one more concave like old xbox, which is the type I use. Each comes in three heights, and the controller came with the ones I had selected as well as an assortment of the other style and heights. I preferred one of the ones that came with the sampler, and I just ordered several more of that design once I had decided.

@hayhorWait, what?!? My controllers typically last years, Lol. That's why I'm so disappointed that my RB went out so fast, twice. My buttons/triggers have never gone out on me, that I can recall. The only reason I ever have to replace controllers, is due to stick drift after a couple/few years (aside from the Elite 2 that prompted me to post this thread)
@pandareno1999 I can work with that. On my Elite, I tend to use a taller, concave stick for my aiming, and a shorter, convex stick for my movement. As long as they send me a couple options, I should have no problem finding a pair that works for me. Are they magnetic, like the Elite controllers?
