Everyone should have white backpacks from the start

For better or worse, the devs have made clear more than once that this is an intentional design choice.  Once when they introduced the starter kit, and once since then, as a side comment on another issue.  Either Klein or Biebs,can't remember which one, asked their readers to consider why they chose not to include backpacks with the starter kit, to help understand some other choice they made.
