Exploits vs Features
With all of the things you can do in apex, where do the developers draw the line between exploits and features?
The TOS states that one cannot:
- Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools (such as "auto", "macro", hack or cheat software), or use exploits, bugs or problems in an EA Service to gain unfair advantage.
- Engage or assist in cheating or other anticompetitive behavior (such as boosting, collusion, and match or matchmaking manipulation).
Is wall kicking, being a movement technique that is not taught and strange to use, and could give an advantage counted as an exploit? Is fast punching with Horizon, which does not require anything other than 4 default inputs, count as an exploit? Whenever anyone finds a new thing you can do, how do we know if it is a bannable offense or just a new technique which must be learned? While I agree that things like the patched-out dashboarding and autofire sentinel are frustrating and scummy to fight against, without an announcement in-game, is every player expected to browse the forums every time something like that occurs? There needs to be more communication on what is a technique that is intended or fine to use, and what counts as a bannable exploit.
On a side note, while this would probably be incredibly difficult or even impossible to code, an LTM where all of the old known exploits like Gibby barrel stacking, b-hop healing, fast punching, auto sentinel, and other goofy bugs got added back in somehow would probably be really fun.
- @Ventus51701 Common sense should be enough to make a distinction between an exploit and a feature 🙂
Example:
Wall-kicking(wall bounce?)- Not an exploit
Fast punching- Exploit
