Not sure what's going on there. It's been a while since I spent much time in the range, but when I did it was a lot and it was always hard combat with random movement and shields. And I can't ever remember facing anything that was much more aggressive than what I find in bot royale. I'll check again. Maybe it's part of the new season update?

Strange. I checked again after your post. It's not at all like I remember it. They actually try to kill you. A lot. Maybe something was broken before, or maybe this is an update with the new season. I'll definitely be dialing back the difficulty.
