FOV
a few seasons ago I listened to some youtuber and changed my FOV to 90. A few weeks ago, decided to change it down to 74 for kicks. I found I play way better at 74 than I do at 90. Moral of the story...
@aisthebestletterThe bigger the TV the better also cheap LED tvs are the best. Cheap Tvs do not over process the signal so you get a cleaner and clearer image.
I had a cheap 2012 , 42 LED Element Tv, The image was super sharp and pixelated. I hated the image.
One day playing Apex I got angry and mistaked threw my controller at my table, it bounced off my table and broke my tv. It Broke my Heart.
So I played on a 45 Plasma and image was to blurry, then I moved on to a 32 Led samsung, still the image was to small and too blurry, then I moved on to a 45in Led Vizio and still the image was too processed and blurry. I feel like shjt now, I miss my old Element Tv, I miss its creap unprocessed super crisp image, I feel like crying now.
I am moving on to a 4k Led element when i get some money, I hope it is as good or better. Big cheap Tvs for the win!
Don't big TV screens increase response time since they're made to just watch TV and thus have noticeable lag?
I only play on big screens over 35in when I'm doing split screen or something offline but for online games, I use a monitor around 32in and when compared to a TV, its a clear winner.
Also tried 110 FOV and it felt nice, but I didn't notice a difference in my gameplay, sure I get to see my sides more but I accomplish that either way since I tend to completely look around me every few mins anyways to make sure no one is creeping on me or the team as the audio can be a bit iffy.
Also 110 feels like I'm looking through a fish eye
Took me a year to work up to 110 on a big TV, as there was just too much going on initially, no way back now that I'm used to it.
@iBlockHeadIt depends on your playstyle.
I am a marksman. I have been running Bangalore with G7 and a Flatline since season 0.
I like to engage targets before they can get into range.
I normally engage at 75m - 25m with my G7. I usually use the Flatline to deal sustained fire damage at 25m -10m. I try to down atleast 1 target before pushing in at 10m.
I have noticed a large screen helps seeing and hitting targets at my preferred range.
I try to always control the pace of my fights, and keeping the medium range help with that.
I hate chaotic close range fights. They become unpredictable r99 skirmishes, and I hate those.
Also a large Fov is great for markman spotting, but 110 FOV has a zoom-out con.
A larger screen help offset the large 110 FOV and rebalance the idea zoom size.
@iBlockHead Lots of new tvs will have a "gaming mode" option to reduce lag and take out some of the processing that I personally find distracting.
