game lag for no reason? good internet.

so for about the past month i have experienced "lag" on apex for xbox one randomly. i have never once had a issues prior and i have played since day one. so at first i could find a game when i solo queued for a week or two.. it would just endlessly search with no game to be found, but if i joined another players game we would find game like normal and i could play with no issue. that issue went away on its own luckily. then it was goo for a week maybe. after that i started like getting lag during game play.... my movements feel sluggish , slight stutter while moving, lower fps (40-50) ... its very noticeable.. no on screen connection alerts. every other game i play on my xbox runs perfect, on happing on apex..ea. customer support told me that they have no idea why this is happing and they are labeling it a "bug" they told me there is nothing they can do and to come here to the forums to try and find answers... i have tried every trouble shoot possible... rests ...power cycles ...factory resets, change dns, clear mac address, uninstall reinstall ,  reset router...opened ports for my xbox live...my internet speeds come up fast with speed tests.. im hard wired to the web NOT wifi... the only thing i can think of is i know ive read certain games need specific ports open for  a certain game in order to recive data from the servers...the only ports my isp opened where the ones for xbox live found on the xbox website not the apex specific ones found on ea's website. please some one help me ...i love apex and am actually kinda good at it haha this sucks ...help ya boy out please

  • @moistbackfat Good internet? Boring!

You need great internet! thats your problem.

Just kidding. The problem isn’t on your end. It’s the servers. Every 1-2 weeks after a major update the servers tend to perform even below what they usually do and it affects everyone. So for instance you can see it as the server listing puts your ping at lets say 40ms... but in-game you’re suddenly at 150+. This shouldn’t happen as it still should choose the closest available and if it suddenly goes up 110 ping it’s either not the closest or the servers are unstable.

Same can be said if at the listing you see 0% PL and 2% PL intermittently displaying or it stays at a certain PL while your own data test shows no PL and other games neither.

The fps fluctuation however is your xbox. Xbox One will fluctuate between 30-45 I’ve been told, Xbox One S 35-45, Xbox One X will do 40-60 at given moments.

Just wait it out I’d say cause tomorrow a new update will go live so more ppl will join. I predict this issue will still be prevalent until at least next week

@moistbackfat Not possible. Not bloody possible. You must be yanking my chain! (Can’t think of another comical way to say it).

Not even Series X displays 60fps... it puts 59... I had the One X as well and I know darn well that it didn’t stay anywhere near 59 consistently. I know it was going up and down like a rollercoaster. So a One S can NEVER display 60fps consistently... not even 60 normal!

Maybe you’re seeing 50 or something? Or you have a weird golden One S xD

@moistbackfatHere’s a tip then, don’t post BS like ‘Xbox One S constant 60 fps’, while better hardware doesn’t even get that.

It’s only not-constructive because you don’t face the truth.
