GPDR complain = BAN

Since 2019 I’ve poured thousands of hours into Apex on PSN. Legit Level 500 account stacked with heirlooms, rare skins, badges, battle passes — everything. One random day the PSN-EA link glitched and my entire progression vanished.

Two full years of EA Help hell followed:

  • Every single ticket: “Just unlink your PSN, wait 24-48 hours, relink.” Nothing ever came back.
  • Ask for escalation to the right team? “We can’t do that.”
  • Mention your data rights? Chat suddenly “disconnects” or gets closed.
  • Tried through multiple EA accounts. Same endless loop every time.

Eventually I filed a formal GDPR rectification request because the linking was clearly wrong and my real progress was still sitting somewhere in their system.

EA themselves confirmed in writing:

  • My PSN was historically linked to the account that actually held my progression.
  • They could see the old records in their logs.
  • But suddenly it’s “permanently lost because of the unlink.”

Then comes the kicker.

The legal one-month deadline for them to fix incorrect personal data passed.

A few weeks later, out of nowhere: “Oh yeah, there’s now an active permanent sanction/ban on the account. We can’t do anything, go open a new ticket with Terms of Service.”

No warning. No ban notice before the deadline. No explanation. Just like that — case closed the second they were legally required to fix it.

They dragged their feet for two years, admitted the data exists, then dropped a ban the instant the clock ran out so they could avoid fixing the broken linking.

I have the full email chain showing exactly this. This isn’t a glitch. This is EA using a ban as a get-out-of-GDPR-free card.

If you’ve ever lost Apex progress to their flawed linking system, or got stonewalled the moment you pushed back, drop your story below. I know I’m not the only one.

EA — if you’re reading this (and you monitor these subs), fix the account or the linking system. Stop gaslighting players who just want their own progress back.

The unlinking disclaimer should not override player rights.

The two-year runaround needs to end.

Fix it.
