I think part of it is that you end up playing on a server far away from you. I tend to check pings here before I play https://gameserverping.com/apex
There is an issue and it's been ignored.
Try using a spitfire in training ground then in game.
It's a gun that you need to be within 10 feet to hit consistently. There's videos of it in slow motion mode on youtube where 40% of the bullets missed yet "hit"
