Holo-Day Bash

This is the first season I've played this mode and while it can be fun sometimes, it's really not that great.

So, it's king of the hill, basically, with premade loadouts.  But anyone who knows anything realizes a lot of the loadouts are not equal, especially when coupled with certain character abilities.

A lot of times, you're better off not even trying to board the train, let alone capture it.  You're better off letting it be captured than dying yourself given how long it takes to respawn.  That's bad design.  And I'm not sure it would be that better if everyone started on the train.  It's too small.

I was joking that certain people wanted Apex Legends to occur in a really small room where everybody could punch each other instead of using any strategy at all. This is pretty close to that.

@KelRiever I just cannot get enthused enough about it to play the mode. 

@MandatoryIDtagI think it's a good event for any defensive character. Especially if you can get Rampart dug in with Sheila.

I like the mode but don't understand the hover tanks. They're useless if you can't actually fire them lol.

@OldTreeCreeper Not when there's too much goodness with Olympus going on.  Mind you I still play a bit, just to get the damage goal in points, for badge and then season rewards, but once I hit those, I'll be done.

@KelRiever agreed about olympus, but I seem to be getting a lot of WE at the time of evening I play. Not too worried about the badges and the points for the event seem to be accumulating on their own 😃

@KelRiever youngtree loves the event though. He plays as Bloodhound and had 5 wins in a row on pc this evening. 

@OldTreeCreeper  Excellent!  I think the first day I played I won half the games because Watson’s load out was Volt/Longbow/Arc grenades.

It was an electric train, filled with fences And the moment someone tried to board they were Volt melted.  And usually if they were trying to throw grenades into the train...and I wasn’t ult-ing? You could find them and take them out while they did it.

it’s good that they rotate the loadouts.  But I feel that volt/arc combo is so good you can pick most any character who has that.  Another combo is Volt/Charge Rifle but I forget the grenade.  It’s just that the Volt is so good in this mode.

https://youtu.be/HsgHtf02o7E The Holo-Day Bash game mode has had a new bug, and that this that players can hide inside the middle crate in the middle car of the train and cause an “Overtime Expired.” This is not fair, because a player is still alive and no one can eliminate them.
