Hot drop garbage

Seriously is everyone that plays this game out of their mind?!? People drop so quick and die instantly. It's insane. People think they're good and then they get 2 kills and die to join again and do the same thing. Please share statistics! Help inform your user base! It's at the point where you have to play ranked if you even want a decent game where people don't die within the first 30 seconds of the game. I bet most people that do drop that quickly all die and rarely actually win the game. It's sad, such a great game yet it's being wasted on terrible game play. Just make a smaller map where people that want to hot drop can and die right away can. The size of the maps today don't make any sense when 75% of the people die in the first 5 minutes of the game. This just keeps getting worse with each season/release.

@c0ld1 Not only that! It's way easier to get kills and dmg landing anywhere but hot. I can literally land on the other side of the map and get 6-15 kills and +2000 dmg, despite half the lobby lands Fragment. Posted enough match reports of that here, to make that point.
Land Fragment... if I survive I get maybe a few kills, and then have to spend all game looking for ammo and heals, usually alone because teammates, they be dead.
I don't know about everybody else, but if I have to 1v3 a team and I don't have ammo and heals, I usually don't win that fight... probably a skill issue though. I need to practice my melee vs. shotgun gameplay.
But yeah, hot drop games are so boring as it's the same every time. Dead teammates, no kills, and having to loot scraps all game instead of fighting.
I guess I'm just odd that way, preferring to win and get kills, dmg, fights all game long. 🤡

@CCbathwater It really is just about peoples play styles. While some may not think it can make you a better player I can say for myself it most certainly does.

1: It teaches me how to react and make smarter plays when being in a stressful environment.

2: it teaches me to use guns I normally would not use to get better with them.

3: it teaches me how to handle third party situation up to even more teams.

There are a few reasons some can name why and how it can make someone a better player. There are those times you drop in a safe location but still a team comes in or two. So without mixing a chill play style with a sweat play style you will only be adapted to your 1 true preferred play style. Then when it does get heated some may choke or not know what to do or look for without that hot drop experience forcing someone to learn those situations.

These thoughts go a long way to justifying why one might want to hot drop, but to force randoms into this situation in order to suit one's practice efforts is of a product of questionable ethic. No-fill and pre-made are good ways to achieve this without griefing team mates who do not choose to play this way. Just a thought, not particularly arguing with you.  I like some hot drops as part of a balanced play-style diet, as I said earlier in the thread.

@E9ine_ACLanding semi hot or contested is the best way to learn to fight. This I agree with. Landing on top of 6 other people where one gets a gun and the other gets ammo does not give you any real practice tho. It's just rng looking for high kill games.

@E9ine_AC normally I would agree with you. The thing is... I hate when the JM jumps late and is hellbent to go in the same building where 4 other squads already landed.

They die instantly, then get mad at me for breaking off and going to a safer building next door.

Honestly I don't know what goes through their heads. Any normal person would have seen that landing there was suicide, long before touching the ground.

Why people don't get it is beyond me. I realized this was a bad idea when I was level 3, come on...

@pandareno1999 You and the two below are correct. It is not fair for others to deal with that. I will not disagree to those statements as I believe that also. I am mostly a solo queue player if my one specific friend is not online. Which I tend to no fill for the reasons of my play style.

But, to say it does not teach anyone to be a better player is where we will agree to disagree. Some people learn differently. For me I had to learn how to deal with these situations my way. The way my brain could easily process it and how to handle it. Some like to learn at a slower rate to where I just jump into the heat and learn as I go.

Early on in this game, when I first started playing, I had a random PUG for BR.  The 2 men I was with dropped hot, I separated and went my own way as Crypto.  This was King's Canyon and I went to the map room and pinged all the enemies to assist them.  They got on their mics and insults started with how I didn't know how to play.  They died and wanted me to run into that mess to grab their banners.  I told them I was too distant, this made them drop the match.  I didn't win but I came in second place for a little survival XP.

Most of the time, if I drop with a PUG, I inform them, I will do my best to assist them.  But if they hot drop, there is nothing I can do, so I remain silent.  I cannot imagine waiting 4 to 5 minutes in lobby for a match, just to die for no reason in seconds.  I plan, set my goals, and execute them.  If I complete short term goals, I am pleased.  If I can do both long term and short term goals, I consider that my win.
