How and/or when can I get out of the platinum hard stuck?

@Cheese9Man "I've gotten out of platinum last season by pure determination (not worth it though) ", 100% correct but .....I still can see ALOT of masters. compared to diamonds.
it really makes me wonder, like... how they do it. I have a couple of friends who got to master which is nice but the thing is I know how these guys play and I know their skills and what they are capable of , even weirder that i used to be their carrier and am not even considered half good LOL
