Before you try to link a controller wirelessly to your PC, make sure it has Bluetooth else you need a wired adapter.
If you have Bluetooth on your PC, go to your window settings and select devices.
Make sure you are in the "Bluetooth & other devices" tab.
Now grab your wireless controller and hold the sync button for an X amount of seconds till you see a button blinking rapidly.
Click now on add devices, select add Bluetooth device and your Xbox controller should pop-up.
Select your Xbox controller and you should notice the light on your controller should have stopped blinking.
Now they are connected and you should be able to play apex with your controller on PC without extra steps as Origin supports Xbox controllers.
If Apex doesn't recognize your controller, reboot your PC and all should be fine after that.
