How do ranked penalties work in apex?

I'm just getting into the ranked aspect of apex and was curious what is considered a penalty. Also at what point or if at anytime does your rank decrease.

@Axelaw37The simple explanation is when you left the match while you are alive and when you left after you die but still can be respawned. And for your teammates, they will get a loss forgiveness which means they will not lose any RP despite the entry cost.

In some cases though, people still got penalties when they got kicked out of the game because of the server's fault.
