@DarthValtrex Skill based matchmaking impacts your initial drop and early game. For instance, you have Player A (high skill cap) vs Player B (high skill cap). Player A and Player B land in the same area, but due to RNG, Player B is unable to find a weapon within the first few spots he checks. As the result of Player A finding a weapon and having superb aim, he proceeds to insta kill Player B. Before SBMM, another layer or RNG existed (player skill). So if Player A is a lower skilled player and misses a few shots this allows Player B to escape. Now if you get a string of poor RNG in a high skill cap lobby this can lead to a string of 10 plus games of frustration.
In a game like COD everyone is of equal health and has weapons, so skill is the only determining factor.
You don't have to agree with me but that's what makes this games SBMM so frustrating for my friends and I. I've actually started playing other games because I'm not having fun. Every game is punishing and like a ranked game but there is no reward for your effort. I don't enjoy beating up on new players, I enjoy the randomness of fights that it provides. You win some and you lose some. You have fun along the way.

@n1xon99 SBMM is not the issue with what you’re saying. Even if that happens without SBMM you’re more than likely dead unless they are extremely noob and can’t hit the aide of a barn. The one area I would agree SBMM makes this situation more difficult is running. The players in higher skill lobbies won’t let you run. They will pursue you when you try to run and they are typically more difficult to get away from.
Unfortunately this is part of BR games. That is why it’s important to pay attention to who’s dropping around you and where they are going. You can still go to the same places they land, but you’re taking a risk.
SBMM is definitely harder, but I don’t think it’s as bad as people claim. I played almost exclusively with my higher skill diamond friend last night. His lobbies are definitely harder than mine. But it’s not as bad as people complain.. i just don’t post 1700+ damage games. I also have to stick close to my squad play more supportive and less aggressively. My skill level puts me on the low end of platinum.
